Hello guys! Just a quick revisit to Outer Heaven💀 before I start working on MG2 🫡 I've updated a lot of the art to make Snake and other characters more consistent throughout particularly in the prologue, chapter 1 and chapter 2, I've fixed a lot of sound issues and also added brand new animations. All in one package for your convenience 👍👍Let's consider this Version 1.0. So if you've seen the series already and fancied a rewatch, then I highly recommend this as it is now the definitive version to watch! I want to again thank everyone for the support, whether you enjoy my Tekken series, Metal Gear or anything else I end up working on. I appreciate all of you 👊🔥 See you in the next one! ⚡⚡

This is definitely the *DEFINITIVE* version. Every animation has been updated with love & care. Even the little details like the credit names in parenthesis are better descriptive. Snake looks a lot smoother. Gray Fox looks more consistent with his imagery. Schneider no longer looks like he starts as a child with baby face hair and ends with a beard & long pony tail, lol. Shotmaker's fight was amazing with the new animations. I could go on and on.... Bless you for giving us this experience. Like the others said, I eagerly wait for MG2. Your writing and interpretation is my head canon MGS.

Outer Heaven was an initiation ritual of sorts for David; Big Boss wanted to see if he had what it took to complete the mission, no matter the cost. With help from Frank Jaeger (being Big Boss's most trusted lieutenant), he passed with flying colours. It was at that point Big Boss knew David should be the one, to grant him the peace that could be found in death. Even though Eli also wanted him dead.

The Metal Gear universe is my favorite IP. As a longtime fan of the series (that played all the games when they came out), you did an outstanding job putting the narrative together. You added real nuance to Venom Snake, which made me appreciate him a lot more. Extra credit points for tying Phantom Pain and Metal Gear better than Kojima ever could. There was one plot hole from the series that always bugged me. It was never revealed why Big Boss went back to FOXHOUND after and starting to build Zanibar Land. MGSV's epilogue implied that Big Boss began working on Zanibar Land after escping XOF. So why did he decide to go back to working the US government? How did he go from being considered a international war criminal to becoming FOXHOUND's top ranking agent? I know that's being nitpicky, but since you're working on Metal Gear 2, looks like you may an opportunity to address that. Looking forward to the new series!
@TheLoresmith2 ай бұрын
Ah yes, that is indeed a plothole, or atleast never explained, I will try to expand on that in MG2, but for now, I'm just throwing a few thoughts out there. Perhaps he is such a valuable asset (THE most valuable asset) as a soldier and military mind, it would be silly for nations to deny him offering his services, he was known as the GREATEST soldier of the 20th century after all. Also unlike The Boss, after splitting from the US to do his own thing, he would have garnered a lot of pull and ability to negotiate on his own terms. During Outer Heaven Uprising, he wasn't a known war criminal at the time I believe? he was only known as the guy who left the US to establish his own PMC, dangerous yes but not a war criminal. The truth only came out AFTER Solid Snake exposes Venom in Outer Heaven, before that the real Big Boss was working on Zanzibar Land in secret while operating in the US under FOXHOUND. Did you have any thoughts on this? It's a convoluted story, these are just scatterbrain thought rn, I may have missed something, you're right though It is actually one of the few plot points that actually wasn't addressed.

@@TheLoresmith Thanks for the reply and the opportunity to dialouge. Here's my thoughts. Re. Snake as a War Criminal stuff - The end of Peace Walker, Paz mentioned Cypher would spread fake news about Big Boss being a terrorist, and Big Boss made that speech about basicallly accepting that role. In my mind, the world - or at least the U.S. government - considered Big Boss a terrorist at that point. That's why XOF attacked Mother Base in Ground Zeroes; MSF was a rogue non-state hiding a nuclear weapon (imagine if head of a non-US PMC possesed a nuclear weapon, they would likely be treated the same way). That was also why XOF attacked the hospital at the beginning of Phantom Pain; Big Boss was still considered a terrorist then. (But you do have a point that maybe the world at large didnt know about Big Boss at all) So why was Big Boss allowed to go back to FoxHound after all the assassination attempts? My best guess is maybe once SkullFace was killed, XOF was revealed to be the true rogue actors and disbanded? Maybe that somehow changed the U.S. position narrative about Big Boss being a terrorist in future years? (We nevered learned about XOF's fate post Skull Face) But none of this explains why Big Boss himself wanted to go back to the US after the Boss's death. My best guess is that maybe Big Boss felt he had some unresolved paternal feelings about Snake given that he is essentially a war orphan with BB's genes. BB could feel some type of way about Snake being his and Eva's kid. Even though BB rejected how Snake was born, he's still wary and disgusted about Zero's manipulating him. Plus, Big Boss has some strong feelings about war ophans in general; Gray Fox for example. Also, Zanzibar Land was built to house war ophans, so it seems Big Boss feels he needs to always play their father figure. Venom wanted to kill Snake in Outer Heaven to protect Big Boss, but i think Big Boss himself is reluctant to kill a war orphan. That would explain how Snake bested Big Boss in Zanibar Land. That also explains how Big Boss addressed Snake in MGS4, Big Boss doesnt like seeing war orphans being manipulated. The ending to your own series actually validates the theory that Big Boss feel honor-bound to help and protect victims of war, incuding war orphans, by any means nessesary. Sorry for such a long ass nerdy response. These are thories from over 2 decades of being a fan, so I have a lotta thoughts about Metal Gear stuff! Hope all this helps, let me know if you have other questions, I'll be happy to help!
@micl.angleo2 ай бұрын
@@TheLoresmith Hey, I posted a rather long reply earlier. But to keep my best guess short. My most logical explaination is that Big Boss went back to FOXHOUND to keep a closer eye on Snake, and by extension, Cypher/Patriots. Even though BB never saw Snake as a son, Big Boss might've still felt some sort of kinship to Snake and hated how Zero was using him. Not sure why the US would welcome BB back without being suspcious of him, but maybe Zero was so desperate to fulfill the Boss's will, and BB would be the best person to do it. Still seems like strange logic. But after reviewing some lore, I''ll walk back the "Big Boss is a known war criminal" bit. XOF attacked Mother Base, not the UN. So the news about the attack would've been kept under wraps. But Big Boss did posses a nuclear weapon, so I'm doubtful the government would've just waved that off. Let me know if you have any other thoughts! Happy to help!
