I love how the vocals of the music only kick in at the best parts of the boss fights, I.E the last 30-60 seconds. It gives you a huge adrenaline boost when the music transitions to the chorus. The best example of this is Bladewolf, after you kill the Gechos(idk how to spell it) and he jumps back down to fight you, it cuts to the chorus as Raiden and Bladewolf charge at each other and it gives me goosebumps everytime I see it, and I've played through this game around 10 times

Sophisticated Turtle people forget that MGS ends with 4 and there will be no Snake story again. MGS 5 is just a filler that tell some story between games. Nothing more. Rising stands on its own as pure fun action game. Only sad part is that we had to wait for phantom pain so long because of it.

Sophisticated Turtle Another thing most people don't like is the lack of emphasis on stealth as was talked about when only Kojima Production was heading this project the main designer called it "Hunter Stealth" (which is something I was interested to see, I kept thinking of the concept being like Grey Foxes VR missions). I'm sure just as many people were also mad that the game was no longer developed on the FOX engine but is instead on Platinums engine for Bayonetta. Though with all things considered in the end with the 1.5 year development cycle for Platinum and keeping true to some of the core mechanics from the original idea I think this game turned out great.

Jetstream Sam has to be my favorite boss fight and character in this game. In his DLC he had no enhancements at all, but still stood his ground, defeated Blade Wolf, and cut off one of Armstrong's limbs (which Raiden didn't even do.) Later destroyed Raiden in a 1v1 and became even more of a badass. He deserves his own game.

3 major things that I've learned from this: 1: You can cancel sub weapons animation with blade mode 2: Defensive offense is surprisingly OP in dodging and backing off incoming attacks 3: You can cancel combo with blade mode so that Raiden can be able to perform consecutive cheapshot attacks

The sync at 11:35, Raiden's giggle at 11:50 and his Zandatsu (ZAWARUDO) at 11:55 are beyond perfect. This is a closest thing to 2003 Shredder vs Totally Spies fight. But seriously, video matches the game's legacy excellently. Fantastic work.

Watching this gameplay in 2021 just feels so satisfying. Thank you for this, I'm seeing how far I can chug into the game on mkb, which hilariously for me, makes parrying easier but dodging so much harder. Appreciate the comment, I would also throw in there that Offensive Defensive is a useful move (huge windows of opportunity for invincibility frames and able to cancel out of attack animations). Yeah I did Sam and Bladewolf bosses as well. I also did one video fighting Sam on Revengence no Hit wearing the Blue Body costume (reduce damage by 15%) and using a fully upgraded wooden sword (weapon strength -0.5) let's just say it turned a 5 minute fight into a 17 minute fight. That video has some of my best techniques / combos though. I also did one video fighting Mistral just because I wasn't content with parrying an attack on her and refused to do it for any of the others (GRAD is the exception cause I don't want to deal with two of them :D).

As an update, I'm beginning my very hard first time playthrough on mkb and offensive defense is a lifesaver. Now I just have to beat the parry game and I'll be set.
