Sophisticated Turtle people forget that MGS ends with 4 and there will be no Snake story again. MGS 5 is just a filler that tell some story between games. Nothing more. Rising stands on its own as pure fun action game. Only sad part is that we had to wait for phantom pain so long because of it.

Sophisticated Turtle Another thing most people don't like is the lack of emphasis on stealth as was talked about when only Kojima Production was heading this project the main designer called it "Hunter Stealth" (which is something I was interested to see, I kept thinking of the concept being like Grey Foxes VR missions). I'm sure just as many people were also mad that the game was no longer developed on the FOX engine but is instead on Platinums engine for Bayonetta. Though with all things considered in the end with the 1.5 year development cycle for Platinum and keeping true to some of the core mechanics from the original idea I think this game turned out great.

The best thing is how in blade mode when he kills bosses like mistral he doesn't do that over the top thing where everyone cuts them into a million pieces. It looks more realistic and cinematic the way he just cut her arms and legs and head off with a few slow and deliberate cuts, it felt so cinematic. I thought that was cool, it always bothers me about other players breaking immersion by always swining wildly and cutting 300 pieces to the point it bugs and can't register.

I love how the vocals of the music only kick in at the best parts of the boss fights, I.E the last 30-60 seconds. It gives you a huge adrenaline boost when the music transitions to the chorus. The best example of this is Bladewolf, after you kill the Gechos(idk how to spell it) and he jumps back down to fight you, it cuts to the chorus as Raiden and Bladewolf charge at each other and it gives me goosebumps everytime I see it, and I've played through this game around 10 times

It’s also different for Sam and Raiden Sams vocals stop when he looses his sword and continues when he picks them up There is definitely a deeper reason behind this but I honestly am not smart enough In the final boss Raiden has this as well where dropping the sword causes it to stop vocals

I honestly think that Mistral may be the best example of it, she is my favourite boss for that reason, just the pure adrenaline of her vocals kicking in right after she says "this ends now" is too much awesome for my brain to handle sometimes. Though I also love Armstrong and MG.

Same with songs “ish” every song shows a bit of character. When you take sams sword away. What are you left with? Just a man who got beaten by Armstrong. Sam’s character is based around his sword.
