However, they’re not in the same order as presented in the video. So if you’re looking for a specific one I’ve included a guide that may help you in finding it. I’ve taken extensive notes on the game script as part of this project, so if you still need help feel free to post a comment. Especially if you know an exact quote that I can ctrl+F search. (update 4/21/2023: I figured out what was wrong with the codec calls. They're fixed now, and included with the above download link (The link URL has not changed)) In the video description I mention that some codec calls did not come out right and needed to be replaced with recordings from the game. This is the first time I’ve done something like that in these videos. I wanted to have a complete collection for the video so that it could be called “All Codec Calls”, but also be upfront about where the material comes from. The timestamps for recorded audio are: 14:23 to 15:01 16:01 to 16:21 21:09 to 22:07 27:38 to 28:50 46:53 to 48:50 1:03:18 to 1:04:59 1:16:18 to 1:17:52 1:31:04 to 1:31:58 1:46:50 to 1:47:48 1:50:01 to 1:51:48 2:30:16 to 2:33:04 2:35:13 to 2:36:45 2:38:34 to 2:41:36 2:48:26 to 2:52:26 2:52:47 to 2:54:55 2:54:59 to 3:01:23 If I can ever work out how to get these calls from the game data sounding correctly, I’ll post them in an addendum. @@littlebadassgaming I know what you mean. I love the codec's aesthetics, it's beeping noises, and that nostalgic soundtrack. But I'm focused first on preserving the vocal performances. Some of the later games might allow for a better compromise. If anyone wanted to make a video of every codec conversation straight from MGS1 footage, then insert the unused stuff from here for the ultimate experience, they have my blessing lol.

I could have sworn there's an instance where if you are on your way to the Communications Tower (before the staircase sequence) but then back track to where you fought Sniper Wolf the first time, and then call Miller, he acts annoyed that you're not going the right way (foreshadowing that he's Liquid waiting in the Hind D). But I didn't come across anything like that in these audio files. So... maybe I'm misremembering?

Some weird lines here and there, but overall, these conversations sound pretty natural and hold up even today. Nastasha and Mei Ling's codec conversations, in particular, are still very interesting to listen to.

Yeah this was really impressive for an era of games where full voice acting was not the norm. They had to have known the player wouldn't organically hear most of this stuff, but they were dedicated to writing characters you'd want to hear for hours. Sure worked on me.

Yes. Blast the wall open, then return to the elevator and go to B1 or 1F before calling campbell. I also ran through the wall and back out while testing, but I don't think that matters in terms of sequence. There's a lot of calls meant to remind you where to go, but this is an example of one meant for players that backtracked at an unusual part of the game.

The Twin Snakes features all new recordings with the same actors and (mostly) the same script. Commenters still expressed interested in the PS1 original, however so I thought I would take the time out to do this game as well.

So all the background music to the codec conversations are all just one audio file? Its a shame, some of the nicer rarer music is in the background to conversations, like when Naomi explains about Frank Yeager - "yes... but they revived him...." True fans of the game can also hear the male choir in the background to that line.
