Still the best game from the franchise along with Snake Eater. Most iconic bosses: Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Raven, Grayfox, Liquid...Most creative sequences: using a cigare to detect x-rays, switching controller port to defeat Psycho Mantis, abseiling to escape the Hind once you run out of stingers, surviving the torture chamber, taking care not to leave footprints in the snow, giving the flue to the guards, etc. Haven't played the game in 25 years but that's fucking sweet memories....

(Call via Codec) Snake: Colonel, I'm facing against swarms of zombies in a mass grave! Campbell: Zombies? Nonsense, that's just a stuff made up in horror movies. Naomi: Zombies, you say? Snake: Yeah. Reanimated soldiers. Naomi: That must be the work of Necro Vulture. Vulture was raised to be a voodoo practitioner in Haiti, where he mastered the arts of zombification, herbal healing, and spiritual contact. Then he and his family emigrated to New Orleans in 1971, where he eventually joined the U.S. Army as a field medic during the Gulf War. After that, he was recruited to Foxhound. Campbell: Yeah, he was Foxhound's medic before until Liquid took over. Since then, he is using his voodoo magic to resurrect dead soldiers. Those zombies that you recalled were controlled by Vulture who painted red crosses on their forehead. He is using them as human shields. Those crosses he painted acts as targets. If you shoot them on any parts of the body, Vulture will automatically resurrect it. But if you shoot them by the forehead, they will drop dead and he will be unable to resurrect them. However, if you eliminated all of them, Vukture will summon more zombies. Snake: Just like any other zombie films. Campbell: But be careful. Even though a single zombie can attack you with minor damage, they can be deadly when in large numbers. So try to kill them before they group up. Naomi: Also you have to take into account to Vulture's high capacity shotgun. He uses normal rounds, but what is most deadly about it is when he uses poison and piercing rounds. The poison rounds can make you lose health when poisoned unless you find an antidote, but the piercing rounds is most lethal because it will make you bleed and lose health rapidly, and even worse it will allow his zombies to swarm over you. Campbell: That shotgun Vulture is carrying is a Winchester M97, an antique rifle that carries 5 rounds. Don't get too close to him or you'll be blown off at close quarter. Keep at a farther distance from him while he's firing. He will shoot you, but he'll shoot his zombies by accident. After 5 rounds, he will try to reload. Try to use those to your advantage. Completely wrong. A high speed rifle round has far more energy than a slower projectile of equal size. High speed rifle rounds cause cavitation upon impacting targets that are mostly liquid like human bodies. This causes a wound channel much greater than the size of the round even if the bullet passes completely through the person

I've remained Solid on this, no pun intended, that English Dubs to Japanese works are terrible, except for MGS, Silent Hill 1-3. That said, I have the Japanese Premium Collector's Edition of Metal Gear Solid, I think in came out in Japan in 2000, maybe 1999. I played it on modded PS1 and yep, the Japanese dub is as good.

(Call via Codec) Naomi: Bomber Jackal is a former member of the Irish Republican Army. He is a bomb maker with a penchant to create destruction with his custom-made explosives. He was being responsible for the waves of car bombings, and collateral damage to innocent civilians and British troops. It is no wonder that he was wanted by the Irish authorities and MI6. When The Troubles ended with the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, he went into hiding until he was recruited into FOXHOUND by Ocelot. Snake: I don't get it. Why would FOXHOUND recruit a most wanted terrorist who did car bombings? Naomi: They probably hired him for demolition. Campbell: So he might be planning on detonating Shadow Moses if the demands are not met. That would make this a deadly situation. Snake: He has the entire place rigged up ready to detonate. But my radar isn't picking up any bombs he had planted. Naomi: His bombs are modified to be undetectable by radar. That's why you don't see it. But you can spot one just by looking for the red light. Campbell: Just be careful and watch your step. Those bombs will detonate upon contact. Caught in the explosion and you'll be leaving with third degree burns. He also uses an AK47 to ambush you or to lure you into a trap. So keep on your toes for any surprises he setup. Snake: I'd sure hope I need more than luck to pass through his bombs, or this would be a cakewalk.

Campbell: He can throw flash grenades to disorient you and as a countermeasure to escape when cornered. But what he is most dangerous is when he wields two uzi compact machine guns. A single firearm can fire rapid barrages of multiple gunfire. More than enough to turn you into swiss cheese. With two firearms, the results are destructive. Like raining hellfire. Naomi: I took note of him, too. He was once a member of the Black Panther Party, a political party dedicated to promoting racial justice against prejudice on African-Americans. He joined there as a teenager in the early 1960s after his parents were murdered. Snake: So he's fighting for racial justice. But what's a member of the Black Panther Party be doing in FOXHOUND? Naomi: It's what he was trained in using submachine guns. He was part of Black Panther's militant branch, where he targets police and white people who oppresses the black community. He harbors a hatred of white people to the point of going on a murder spree on innocent people before being arrested. After that, he found his usefulness among the ranks in FOXHOUND. Campbell: Make sure to take cover on the walls at all times, Snake. He will be running and firing continuously on all corners. Try using hit-and-run tactics. (Ends Codec)

Solid Snake Vs cyborg ninja was like an anime fight. And I couldn't believe that the game was made before 1998. What a story and how this games story is linked with the game that came in 2015. Even though the some bits were remaining that what and how did venom snake died and how did snake killed big boss. Even though all of it happened in original metal gear that came in. 1987 and metal gear 2 1989 but we need a full remake of both of these game. Metal gear solid: The end of big boss.

Snake: Great. Now I can't seem to find a way to penetrate through his armor while in cover. That guy looks like he can pound me to the wall in one shove. Naomi: You are correct, Snake. But according to his psychological evaluation report I've obtained from his medical records, he is actually the least intelligent of the group with an IQ of less than forty! Snake: Strong, but dumb? Guess being all brawn makes one man a no brainer. Naomi: That's not true, Snake. Rhino grew up in a poor, low income family with hardly any education whatsoever. During the Vietnam War, he was automatically enlisted into the army as part of the government initiative called Project 100,000. Snake: Project 100,000? I never heard of that project before. Campbell: It is actually a policy enacted by the government to lower the enlistment requirements to include those with an IQ rating of less than forty. That means men who are mentally challenged, dropouts or those who have scored poorly on the exams are entitled to be enlisted to the armed forces regardless if they have failed. Snake: They actually recruited men who are too stupid to go to war? That has got to be the dumbest idea I've heard of. Campbell: In truth, it is. It was enacted by Robert McNamara as part of Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty. They target the poor, recruiting them with promises for a better future and good benefits. In reality, they were literally sent to war as cannon fodders. It was also an experiment to weed out the destitute from society; and added to the list of casualties, it deeply affected our military morale. Those that survived become outcasts suffering from PTSD. That's why they're called McNamara's Morons. Snake: McNamara's Morons. Colonel, you were there, too, during the war. Have you've met one of them? Campbell: Hardly. They were integrated into our units. Though I've met one who was recruited into the project named Randall. Details about him are classified, but he is incompetent in knowing the basics of warfare. During the battle, he was manning a machine gun shooting all over the place and missing every shot. Then he got blown up by a mortar, and was airlifted back to base. Last I've heard of Randall was that he survived in a nursing home with most of his limbs missing before he was transferred to the laboratory by orders from Dr. Clarke for a "life-changing treatment". I think Armor Rhino might have been Randall. Snake: Perhaps. But we don't know if that is him or not, unless I find out how to take him down. Naomi: There is one way to get through his armor: explosives. The whole area is used to store mortar shells. If you can find one and prime it by hitting the tip part on any surface, you can throw it on Rhino. Another way is to load them to the mortar launcher and aim at it. With enough explosives, it can damage his armor leaving him vulnerable. Snake: Perfect! That will be enough to break him out of his shell.
