The thing you said about the time signatures is only partially true Yes, sometimes they do it the way you described it, but most of the time, the song is in 4/4 but the repeating pattern that they're playing isn't and just lies on top of the 4/4. That's what's called polyrhythms. Although, the patterns in the beginning and in all the breakdowns in this song are not even repeating, you just have to memorize the whole 8 bars lol But for the polyrhythms as I described them, check out Letter Experiment (verse riff), The Bad Thing, Stranger Things, The Walk (main riff), Prayer Position (chorus), Satellites (outro breakdown), Ji ('as the cold wind bloooooooooooooows'), Ragnarok (main riff), MAKE TOTAL DESTROY, Mile Zero (chorus), Masamune etc. But the band that really have that type of polyrhythmic riffs all over their music are Monuments. Pick literally any song.

That's what really makes Periphery pop prog by todays standard. They're bringing advanced odd times signatures that are headbangable I love the stuff where they're just vile and disgusting, some of the lighter stuff doesn't vibe too well, but all in all good band and great trendsetter and entrepeneurs

Polyrhythm is quite literally just when you have more than 1 rhythm on top of each other (ie quintuplet over sextuplet), what you’re talking about is more akin to polymeter. Sorry, not trying to be an elitist or snob or anything but just letting you know

I'm also a huge fan of Periphery and I love this live version of the song. Awesome performance by the band and the fact that Spencer doesn't have any effect on his mic really let his talent shine. Jake's voice should have been a bit louder though

I also did a reaction video to this as well. I am a professional audio and progressive metal guitarist. Sick fucking rifts on here man. I was literally mind blown when they all down picked during the blast beats. All three of them doing that at a same time dropped my jaw to the floor.

Not Spencers best vocal performance, seen them live last month and they absolutely killed it, Spencers voice sounds a bit fatigued here

his lower notes were kinda flat sometimes here, but his highs are on point. saw them en june and it was the best concert i've ever been to, spencer didn't missed a single note
