I know what you mean about not missing one of the members of a band. The thing is Unlucky Morpheus are just a bit different from normal. Most bands get together for the band, hence one of the reasons why they split up a lot. With UM they were friends before that were in other bands then got together, because they enjoyed playing together. A tune I love by them is an instrumental, they all get thier time to shine and also work together and in the live vedio you can see how much they enjoy being on stage together. There are 3 videos, where they do one of their songs, but they all do/play something they don't normaly play. It's them haveing fun and messing around, even swaping over 1/2 way though. The video's are normaly only up for 1 day, but others have re-uplaoded them. Edit: they have a new album coming out next month.

Also... this song talk about a Knight (actually Lancelot) but in their version of the anime Fate Stay (saga....). And in the beginning of every chorus says first "fate" then.... "stay" and after the solo "night". That's the first fate of the saga "fate stay night" when a couple of guys fight with their servants for the victory and a wish granted to the winner. SABER is the woman who reincarnated with the spirit of Lancelot. About the guitarists, and the one who your talking about. He was the main guitar of Yousei Teikoku and after that he just left the band for the problem with his tendons.

That was awesome! I was just introduced to a Ukrainian band called Jinjer. The lead singers voice is amazing. The first song I heard of theirs was Pisces.

In their live shows I've seen the bassist (Ogawa) gets the spotlight in one segment and he's really good. He even plays the bass with the guitarist (Jinya) with four hands! It's really pretty cool. Oh, and if you want to see some of their other bands, check out Yousei Teikoku. Shiren, the guitarist and composer in Unlucky Morpheus also played the guitar there. Good reaction! I recommend Japanese math rock band "Tricot" by three founding girls and one drummer guy (he is now permanent member). They are not metal/hard but unique music and their live is so rock! Try song "E"

Unlucky Morpheus is so fuckin cool! Nice react! :) I want to give some suggestions of more japanese artists that's really impressive. Miyavi is a samurai guitarrist. His skills is insane! Check his songs, like "What's my Name?", "Strong", "Horizon" and "Selfish Love". If you want an impressive vocal, you should check Dir en Grey. Songs like "Uroko", "saku", "Obscure", "Different Sense" are insane (And watch the live version!) He does every vocal.

Im down for more UM but if you wanna stay on the rabbit hole I would say Anthem (aka Priest from the east) has some really nice old fashioned metal songs, Eternal Warrior or Bound to Break comes to mind. IDK if you did Ningen Isu already which would be a more of a japanese take on black sabbath with some other elements mixed up. Both are bands on the Veteran side.

I've started to like Unlucky Morphius more lately. However I still think Versailles does neoclassical progressive better. Evidence: Versailles - Faith and decision ( m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5XLl3hsfrmZpbM ). And all it comes down to for me is, can the instruments tell the listener what current mood is currently conveyed in the song.
