I agree. Trench was so fantastic. I hope we hear that darker, heavier stuff again next time. Tyler is so measured and thoughtful about everything he does. I’m so enjoying the imagery and mystery. My favorite song on SAI is No Chances!

We both agree! The darker style suits them! That’s not to say that SAI is bad, because it definitely is not. BUT Trent felt more mature. Great album! Thanks for joining us!

Great reaction to The Outside. I love Scaled And Icy (SAI) as much as I love Trench. It was a pandemic album intentionally brighter so as not to hold a mirror to our the times. But under the bright colorful surface, SAI was also dark. But now I am ready for something new, I am ready for Trench 2.

enjoyed your reaction, you picked up on a lot of references! i like the contrast between the bouncy sounding track and the dark story in the video, can't wait to see where they take the story next. when they go in the caves you can hear the melody for their older song 'Migraine' playing faintly because, the island they're on is called vøldsoy which translates to 'violence' in Norwegian ('"Behind my eyelids are islands of violence" 'my mind shipwrecked, this is the only land my mind could find'). i think that the neon lights contain peoples souls/spirits so that the bishops can then control their bodies, so by destroying the light Tyler destroyed the Bishop (like in bandito Tyler sings 'I feel my spirit is contained, Like neon inside the glass, they form my brain').
