Fun fact: The island they're on is called Voldsoy, wich means violence. It's a reference to Migraine's lyric 'Behind my eyelids are islands of violence' and when he's walking into the cave, you can hear a distorted version of Migraine's melody.

I forget where I heard this, but from what I recall this represents Tyler learning to rescue himself vs relying so much on friends (Josh) and family. Ned (the creature from here and Chlorine) is Tyler's creativity (shown as missing in the video for Choker). Tyler took control over the bishop to destroy part of the neon gravestone they'd built for him in Dema and the kids at the end and the other torches were more banditos escaping from Dema (blue burning in the distance behind them).

The ending was from the trench trilogy. At the end of Nico and the Niners video, those kids found the jackets.

Ned was a symbol of Tyler’s creativity in Chlorine. So this video is Tyler talking about how is creativity and his music has helped him defeat Blurryface (Aka Nico, aka his mental health issues).

I believe you were pretty close to the song meaning. They’ve never tried to be mainstream, so in a way they’ve always been a bit on The Outside. But they had a “meteoric rise” (Blurryface era) that led to others being influenced by their style, but he’s not sure whether they’re still on the outside. Either way, he will keep doing his thing, vibing to his own beat/style. The video is heavy lore and follows the video for Saturday, where they were under the control of the Bishops. But Trash the dragon broke them out of the submarine. At the beginning of this video you see that it was the Bishop Keons that had been controlling Trash and helped Tyler and Josh escape. So the other Bishops killed Keons. Tyler washes onto the shore and Josh is back to being the Torchbearer, guiding Tyler to the cave. The music playing in the background is from Migraine. If you remember those lyrics, he describes an island of violence where Tyler’s mind was shipwrecked. “I begin to assemble what weapons I can find, because sometimes to stay alive, you gotta kill your mind.” Well - that’s where our friend Ned comes in Ned’s antlers are a weapon that Tyler can use to fight the Bishops. He is able to do the same thing you saw Keons do in the beginning. Tyler uses the control over Keons body to set Dema on fire. That’s what you see in the background with the kids on the other shore. Those are Banditos who have been waiting for a sign from Tyler and Josh. The flashback shows that those are the kids from the Nico and the Niners video that found Tyler’s Bandito jacket. This serves as the bridge to the final chapter of the Dema storyline (next album). We are all excited to see how Tyler will finish the story! When they released this video, this is how they introduced it on Instagram: “before this, the odds seemed insurmountable. but now, an equalizer. everything will be in position. all the pieces on the board, ready for the final push.” (Posted day before release) “this is a story about cycles, and trying to break them. about discerning between external and internal attacks. and about balance. a balance between being saved by a friend, and saving yourself. here is the official video for The Outside”

Ah, thank you for laying it down... again 😉 I love that there are so many intricate layers to their music. It can get confusing if someone jumps into the middle of it and hard to follow, but I think that furthers the point. We're the Banditos there to guide others through the darkness, light the way. Thanks, Elizabeth J. |-/ 🤍💛🤍

I think this song shows what they wanted to convey with the album. A more uplifting, chill mood, and anyone hating on the change won't really impact them at all. Great video! 💯

hey i've been watching your channel for over a year now I believe, and I really enjoy your content. MY biggest goal in life is to become a therapist. I've always cared so much for mental health as a man and have researched so much on self improvement and love. I appreciate your content and thank you for finally reacting to low key.

I've often wondered if "take a hit join the club, kids will try to take my vibe" was about hit songs? Hit songs. The "club" of artists with #1 hits and kids will try to take my vibe are new bands trying to sound like TOP?

Ok I'll TRY to at least give a lil bit of context. The red guys are Bishops, they represent insecurities, the main one is named Nico and represents TYLERS insecurities. They run the city of Dema, which sort of represents being in "a bad place". In this city, they practice Vialism, which means Glorifying suicide. They do this by dancing around and displaying those lights, which are called "Neon gravestones" (neon because it's used to draw people in, so essentially another symbol of glorified suicide). This bit is commentary on society glorifying suicide. Tyler and many others get drawn to Dema (the bad place) by the Bishops (their insecurities and mental health stuff) and need help from the Banditos (their friends, loved ones and in Tylers case, their fans) to escape Dema. They leave, they get dragged back, and on and on it goes. In the music video for Chlorine, where Ned, the antler creature, first appeared, it was as a representation of Tylers creativity. In that song, he explained that he needs to be in a bad way mentally to get creative and write songs. This is shown by Ned wanting lots of toxic Chlorine before he jumped in the pool, and with lines like "Lead is terrible in flavour, but now you double as a paper maker". He doesn't want to feel bad but has to, to write songs and to make money. At the same time, just as chlorine can be cleansing, even IF it is toxic in massive amounts, song writing can be too, to Tyler. Now, during THIS album, Dema has taken control and are making them write super happy mainstream friendly songs to lure more people into Dema, it's a propaganda album essentially, and have lied to the fans that "Clancy is dead" (which... I'm not gonna explain cuz it'd take too long, watch a video on it hahaha) to kill their hope. This music video was released a while after the album dropped, and I think it represents a few things. 1. Tylers creativity answers to different things than others (the other monsters sitting in a circle going puff puff pass, or drinking), while Ned walks away. Not confirmed, just a theory. 2. Tyler is using his creativity to fight his bad side (Dema and the bishops), and is spreading the message to the Banditos. They're probably going to be fighting back in the next album. This album is very different from their previous stuff, and half assed on purposebecause DEMA wrote it. AND because he was isolated in lockdown while writing it. It's like a bridge for whatever is coming next. Again, honestly, there are some videos explaining the lore, I suggest you watch it if you're interested, it'll make it easier and more entertaining reacting to their songs, especially when new ones are released. :) Not a must though, the music is obv good without it.

This video is VERY heavily filled with the DEMA lore. I'm new enough to TOP that I won't try to explain it because so many other fans can say it more clearly than I can. But the guy who dies in the beginning is a bishop from DEMA and the creature is NED and the dragon at the very beginning is Trash. The area burning at the end of the video is DEMA and the 2 people are a flashback to a couple from the Trench Era. Cliquees...correct me if I'm wrong please!!
