Very interesting video. I am especially interested in using butyl tape to cover seams on an Alumawood insulated roof that has persistent leaks in spite of extra caulking and the use of Gorilla spray sealer on suspect seams. Is there a better coating than the usual caulking and sealers that will hold up to weather. Would butyl tape over the seams and sealer on top of it be something to try? Thanks again.

A Butyl Fabric Faced tape should work for Alumawood, but it needs to be Fabric Faced and NOT foil faced, preferable polyester fabric faced. The tape should be firmly attached to the panels at seams, a hand roller could be used to make sure there are no voids or air pockets. This type of tape will only be available at roofing supply dealers, not at big box stores. You can use Ecodur Roof Coating or any reputable roof coating to cover the tape. What type of tape is used for the sacrificial tape?

In this example, it was blue painter's tape. This worked well, but was not our top recommendation. The fabric-backed butyl tape was faster, easier, and outperformed the other methods. You can reach out to us at [e-mail] for more information!
