I found myself extremely satisfied after my brief time with Metal Slug Tactics; its spin on the strategy genre really seems to be set to offer something fresh and engaging. That's before even getting into the character progression systems and, of course, the expressive pixel art that is such an iconic part of the Metal Slug experience. It may not be quite as frantic as its forebears, but something here clicks and makes this seem like a unicorn that was always destined to succeed.

I love tactics games, and Metal Slug is the favorite series from my youth. This has been my most hyped game for years, and I love the developer. Definitely a day 1 purchase, I don’t care how it reviews I want to play it for myself

I thought this was a pretty neat sidestep for Metal Slug. I definitely want this game but have tbh I really want a physical copy of it. Not sure how and when such a thing will occur but when that happens I'm definitely buying it. The art style is very Metal Slug, they nailed it imo. I’m sure this game is great but after MS Attack I want more opportunities to play other factions. We’ve had an entire arcade lifetime’s worth of PF squadron. We want to play with the other factions now!

Metal Slugs is fun not because we kill the soldiers or monsters. It's the war machines and mechs we destroy. This game focuses only on killing the soldiers, which makes it not so fun.
