Very interesting video. Should be added to TCRF, since I don't remember seeing anyone document this. If I had to guess, the crashes could be the game failing to load certain deleted objects. Some objects like the vines and pathways in Splash Hill Act 2 weren't ported properly. The level specific lighting in Splash Hill Act 3 and Mad Gear Act 3 are also missing. Props for making a serious video on April Fools. And playing the game in 4:3, adds to the retro feel.
@Sovic91 Жыл бұрын
Very observant of you. Your guess is almost correct. It is indeed because of objects, but not because they're missing. For example in Mad Gear Act 3, you can get past the part the wall starts chasing you and game caries on as normal. It just doesn't spawn the wall. But the moving pistons that try to lock you crash the game. The reason is actually invalid ID, as well as sometimes the 3D NN data doesn't exist and during rendering, the game accesses an invalid memory address. I actually tried porting the Episode Metal object layouts to their Episode 1 Act 1 counterparts. Cassino Street and Lost Labyrinth crash right away, but Splash Hill and Mad Gear get to load. They also crash very quickly, though, despite not having diferent objects. Even in the short time before they've crahsed there a few object anomalies. In the beginning of Splash Hill Act 1 normally the camera is a bit elevated both in Episode 1 and Episode Metal, however here the camera is at it's normal hight with Sonic being at the center of the screen. Also the first spring in Episode Metal turns into a vine from Act 2 when ported to Episode 1. The Steam pipe in Mad Gear is oriented the wrong way, despite normally being in the same direction in both Episode Metal and Episode 1. Also I checked TCRF and to my surprise you are absolutelly right. It really isn't documented anywhere. I'll try to add it later today if I have some time. Also I might be making a video about exploring the cutscene maps in Episode 2.

Someone should make a mod where all the Episode 1 files are fixed and you can play them all as Metal Sonic.

i Find This Content in TCRF But How did you get Metal Sonic Evey S4E1 Levels did you Hacked or modded? So Here you can play E.G.G Station Or Special Stage As Metal Sonic?
@Sovic91 Жыл бұрын
I'm affraid that playing E.G.G Station and the Special Stages as Metal Sonic would not be possible. You see, all the zones in Episode Metal are ported from Episode 1, but anything except act 1 for each of them is unused. You can find these files in the game's folder. Inside your Sonic 4 Episode II folder you will find four folders that contain ported levels from Episode I. They are named G_EP1ZONE1, G_EP1ZONE2, G_EP1ZONE3 and G_EP1ZONE4, those being Splash Hill, Casino Street, Lost Labyrinth and Mad Gear respectively. Inside each folder you can find all the acts of the zone. For example if you wanted to see all the acts of Splash Hill zone you'd go into the G_EP1ZONE1 folder and inside of it you'll see a few other folders. The one we need is the MAP folder. Inside of it are ZONE11_MAP.AMB, ZONE12_MAP.AMB, ZONE13_MAP.AMB and ZONE1BOSS_MAP.AMB, those being acts 1,2,3 and the boss act respectively. I simply did a bit of file swapping to load the unused acts. E.G.G Station and the Special Stages however, weren't ported to Episode 2 and are not in its files, so there's no way to load them as they don't exist.

21:19 A friend of mine was able to go further of this buggy door there are differences from the original There were only 10 rings before the tablet, and were located in completely unusual places one of the "Grasshoppers" is in the wall, when he try to attack, the "Boomerang Nails" simply disappear A couple of steps before the sign, there will be a strange invisible badnik, It does not deal damage, but there is a characteristic "destruction", However, there is just a crazy bug here It seems that the figure of 100 points flies out, but the funny thing is that these 100 points are taken away (that is, not a plus, it's minus of 100 points) even if this badnik is not touched, as soon as you touch the plate, the game instantly freezes What happened, how the door disappeared, and what was beyond it are the original remains or consequences of the disappearance of the door, there is no answer to this
@Sovic91 Жыл бұрын
Now you're just messing with me. Pretty original, I must say.
@TiyanaWhiteLake Жыл бұрын
@Sert 498 No, it was some kind of specific(?) bug, because of which the door, rings disappeared and the badnik ended up in the wall, after he conducted several more such experiments, he no longer manages to call this bug, how and what caused it is unknown, it is not possible to repeat it at all, as if it only works once and that's it However, the steps for the bug were something like this: - try to find a buggy place, and due to it to gain incredible great speed (By the way, this bug seems to manifest itself extremely rarely) - crank the gear to the end - the door will open and seem to disappear - Then we go further and... - Some objects are out of place, and most of the rings simply do not exist

Where in the files holds the level layouts? Did they keep the Act 2 / Act 3 inside Episode 2? I wouldnt be surprised, because in the first episode, they left the "Sonic the Portable" sign, the "Hold the Wii Remote sideways" popup, the PS3 warning screen, and the Sonic 4 Lite purchase screen 😭😭😭
@Sovic914 ай бұрын
@@BrotherlyBuildings76 Yeah, they left acts 2, 3 and the boss acts from ep 1 in ep 2. No Egg Station, though. Each zone has it's own folder, containing all the assets and data for it.The G_ZONE1 to G_ZONE4 folders contain the regular ep2 zones, and G_ZONEF contains the final zone. Similarly, the levels from episode 1 are stored in folders G_EP1ZONE1 to G_EP1ZONE4. Each level folder contains a number of subfolders, the of note being the MAP folder, as it's the one containing the layout files for all acts.

@@Sovic91 it's probably for the better that there's no egg station, one of the worst zones I've experienced Also in those files are the To the Station in the Sky, and Sunset Splash Hill images. Do you think that cutscene could be brought to the 2nd episode ?
@Sovic914 ай бұрын
@@BrotherlyBuildings76 I'm not sure if the sunset version of the splash hill graphics are in ep2, I'm gonna have to check. As for porting the ep1 cutscene in ep2, I can give it a try, but it's probably not gonna work well, if at all. I've tried porting episode metal levels in ep1 and vice versa and it was a disaster. With the exception of two levels, everything crashed immediately. The two levels that didn't crash immediately upon loading were splash hill act 1 and mad gear act 1. And even so, they crashed pretty quickly regardless. Splash hill act 1 crashes as soon as you get close to the first bridge and Mad Gear act 1 crashes at about the distance from the beginning.
@BrotherlyBuildings764 ай бұрын
@@Sovic91 the sunset definitely is there, but as for if it'll work? Probably not. According to what you posted on this video, the game simply doesn't know what to do with eggman in thd boss fights and crashes almost immediately

It's kinda beyond the current moding capabilities of Sonic 4. I've actually managed to load Splash Hill and Mad Gear into Episode 1, but since the Episode Metal version has a few minor adjustments to level geometry, it crashes pretty quickly. Still, some people are making breakthroughs in Sonic 4 moding, so it might happen one day.
