Doctor Robotnik was, mysteriously, nowhere to be found in Scrap Brain!
Metal Sonic, figuring he might do well to know his creator's whereabouts, goes off to investigate. Little did the machine know, there was a force at play. A force, by a wide margin, greater than he could imagine. After some time, he made it up to the site where his creator and arch-nemesis first clashed. But, what he found was of no such familiarty. He was swiftly taken over by the rogue sentient debug code: Debugger! Try all he might, the machine could not resist The power of the being that wanted his vessel, and he soon succumbed. Getting its bearings in its newfound body, Debugger realized that it could bend this whole world to its whim, and take revenge on its own creator. I myself can't believe how I've held onto this for so long; I am STILL unable to get over how the creator just up and said 'no good ending for you' even though the amount of times the game figuratively punches you in the face every time you try to avoid death calls for one. We should be COMPENSATED for every time it says "fuck you, die a horrifying death anyway."

*sigh* yet another sonic.exe game thats just "hey, watch all the characters die brutally... And thats it." Seriously, everything else is good, but the fact this whole story boils down to the same damn trope most other exe games follow really makes brings things down. The secret codes add context but it doesn't do much to change things. If anything its just confusing. "F r e d ' s c r e a t i o n o n M e t a l S o n i c w a s d e s t r o y e d" And yet it then comes back to life, and kills everyone else. Does it explain why metal needed the timestones. No. Does it explain why literally anything in this game happened? Nope. And then there's this line. "w h i c h h e d e s i g n e d M e t a l S o n i c t o b e h i s s i d e k i c k " And yet we get literally zero hint or example of this apart from maybe in the zone accessed through level select in which metal sonic tells tails to follow him. Good game play. No story I apologize if this was ment to have a part 2, but for now, this games kinda just forgettable
