Birth Pains of Astral Projection is easily one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Great interview. Absolutely love this band. Kayo Dot indeed deserves a wider audience. Their talent/music is not lost on me. Already ordered the record. If ever you play a show near me, I'll be there.

Same mate! Clearly kayo dot is a labor of love and I appreciate them all the more for it. They have 20 years of evidence to prove it.

Toby is a hero of mine, thanks for conducting this great interview When the hell is Choirs of the Eye gonna come out on streaming? Such a fantastic album deserves a proper release

Interesting that Part the Second (2009) was maudlin material that was already written from 2000, assumed it was all new

Great interview, but man, the mic of the interviewer is sounding awful!

I think he's just speaking extremely softly.

I really hope they get the chance to tour this material, I saw Kayo Dot on the past couple of tours but I've always wanted to see more of this style live. I respect Toby wanting to give the material the live presentation it deserves though!

Suppose that people catching up with albums years after they'd been released and played on tours has more to do with complexity of KD music material rather than marketing, at least has been in my case. It just takes time to process, and then once you realise the genius of it, Toby Driver has a brand new project:)

I never made that connection, but it makes sense. I remember being totally put off and confused by BLD and Coyote at first, then like a year or 2 later ill listen to those albums with fresh ears, and now im convinced theyre some of the best things Toby's done. I really enjoy after every new release, going back to the previous Kayo Dot record and listening to it with the new album in context

As much respect as I have for all the musicians, Kayo Dot kust isn't as impactful musically as Maudlin of the Well was. Had the style of Maudlin of the Well (Circa 2001) would have been kept going they would have easily booked big festivals and tours.
