Hi ! About the purple whale. The purple color is the official color of the fandom and the whale is a reference to their song "Whalien 52". They wrote it when things were not great, talking about their dream to reach many people whith their songs, but they couldn't be heard. The title of this song is a combination of "Alien" and a whale named "Whale 52". This whale is unique. It was discovered in the 90s and her particularity is that her song is at 52 hertz so low that no other type of whales can hear it. It was surnamed "the most lonely creature in the world". So for me, the purple whale is BTS and ARMY, all in one ^^.

I do. But I've always had a tough time in my life and very introverted and I self hate a lot. but having BTS and their music as part of my life makes me feel that i too am important and special although i dont always feel that way. haters going to hate players gonna play. keep rockin

But I survived all of those people, and now I'm working to have a better life. I try not to engage in self hate, because then I would just be doing their work for them. And that is one of the reasons why I love BTS so much, they have been mocked, degraded and discriminated against in so many different ways, but they never gave up no matter what and now they are on top of the world. 💜 That's what I want for all of us - to be on top in our own world. 💖

one of my favorite quotes from RM.....RM said "let the haters hate and let the lovers love" and he said that in Las Vegas Concert in April 2022 to Army...the purple whale in BTS Island in the seom was designed by jin and he explained the meaning of the whale upholding the island. He said that the magical creature was called a Sky Whale and he chose to represent it as the foundation of the BTS universe since as the group has many connections to this specific animal. The whale keeps them grounded even as they soar(meaning the whale is Army)... keep your head up and love your reactions. 💜💜

Idol feels like a celebration or a grand parade. I think this is because all 7 have finally come to terms with their celebrity status and what it meant. 2018 was the most challenging year for them, and this song, I think symbolized their commitment to becoming idols. With their outfits, they were trolling their trolls and haters. Suga wearing snow white because people are mocking his nearly translucent white skin. J-HOPE is being mocked for his lanky body. RM is being trolled because he uses cutesy filters during his livestreams. By embracing these things, they're saying, yeah that's fine, we're that too.

Also like you say Jhope's dance stands out for you.. and it does for me as well, but there is just something about the way Jimin moves that makes it hard for me to take my eyes off of him on stage. He always is just a bit more extra than the other guys when he dances. Also wanted to say I'm really sorry you're getting hate from your 'friends'. 💜 Some ppl just aren't even willing to give them a chance and are happier hanging onto what their preconceived notions of the group are which is fine I guess if they want to continue to miss out on their amazing talent. I get so much SH** from extended family members and friends for enjoying BTS - these of course are all people who haven't heard any songs by them or know anything about them 🙄 But because BTS is a so-called 'boy-band' of young good-looking men, my family/friends act like typical western bigoted music snobs and assume BTS aren't talented and don't make 'real music' It's depressing, and their negativity can really drag me down sometimes. I totally get where you are coming from. Great reaction to Idol. Nice to see you're going to interview with WG2S. I've been watching Nico & the gang for about 4 years now for their BTS content, which is approximately when they started their BTS journey (although I only watch reaction channels on KZbin, not Patreon, Twitch or whatever). BTS is pretty much all they do. Since you asked what might be another possible question to ask them, then how about this... "What would your feelings be if BTS, or any solo, changed up again & turned more rock&roll & metal? Or even NuMetal." They loved "More" & they welcome anything that BTS has done & whatever they will do. Also, John, speaking of podcasts, I would love to see you do podcasts with other metalhead reactors to discuss BTS. I would say the most prominent metal heads that I can think of off the top of my head follows (there are others though) ... - Jim Games (producer & gamer), he is up to date with the Rise of Bangtan series... he is very ARMY. Might be best candidate. - Blake Makes Music (rock producer). - Champ of Medium (knows BTS a lot, part of Gaijin Guys podcast, see below). - Mad Ang (knows BTS, hasn't done many reactions recently). - SeptaSOAREous Rex (metalhead couple new on their BTS journey, has already started Rise of Bangtan). Good candidate. - Infinite Music Reactions (from the UK). - Destructive Media . - Local Band Smokeout (total newbie, recently reacted to "More" but knows nothing of J-Hope nor BTS), maybe not a good candidate yet, if ever, lol. I say this because I follow another podcast with 4 separate channel reactors having come together for a once-a-week podcast because their interest is in J-Rock (Japanese Rock music), with the prominent band that got them together was Band-Maid, which you should also react to. That podcast is Gaijin Guys, which you should check out for ideas, if you should pursue a multi-reactor podcast (about BTS or metal/rock, etc) in the future.

I kept it all to myself and people still had a problem with me listening to it. The only reason I can think of is because it made me happy and that really sucked for them and their miserable lives. The amount of stress that has been lifted off of me now that they are gone is actually kind of surprising. You don't always notice all of the little ways someone brings you down. You just have to find something important enough to you that you don't want to be separated from it.

It’s crazy to me that they get categorised as a “boy band”. All the boy bands I’ve ever experienced are a group where one person can sing and another maybe is there to do high notes. The rest are just to make up the numbers and are kept firmly in the background. BTS couldn’t be more different. Every member is bursting with talent.

my friends rag on me so much for loving BTS. heavy metal and black metal are my main genres and most of my friends are like that. i seek out reactors for that very reason. i don't have many people to enjoy their music with. they thought i lost my mind for going all the way to Vegas to see them. anyway! if i were at a punk show and heard a BTS song...idk what i'd do. lol that'd be amazing. check out this version of Fake Love: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIG9q51nlrBojck

Sir, never stop loving yourself!!!💜 Let people talk whatever they want about you.. May you be blessed with long life and prosperity!!! For the KORE (blue Kore) image in IDOL MV, I prefer David's explanation hahaha.. Sometimes people can't guess Jin's brain because he's JINius. For the purple whale on BTS Island, it describes ARMY.. Have a nice day, God bless 🙏💜

So many great performances of Idol out there. Love yourself had such a big impact.. And still does to those that only find this songs now, because we all need to do better at it... A struggle I'm having all my life

John, everyday I wake up in the morning expecting your videos. I love how much of a nice person you are, and how respectful you have been with BTS. Loving to see your journey, you´re really my favorite reactor. Hope you continue to make amazing videos like this. Love myself, Love yourself. 💜

John I give this reaction 1000 out of 10. I can’t wait to see your reaction to this song at the MMA omgosh it is going to blow you away! Thank you for another great reaction! Hugs to you and your family. 💜🇺🇸👍

Hey John. Thank you for this reaction. Although I first heard about them through Boy with Love, Idol is the song that got me into BTS. I saw them perform Idol on Jimmy Fallon and it was love at first sight (and listen) lol. Although I couldn’t understand most of the lyrics, I heard Jimin clearly say “you can’t stop me loving myself.” I was hooked. Then the lovely Namjoon, the colorful outfits, the spectacular choreo, the energy, the positivity, all of it was overwhelming and awesome at the same time. I love your reactions because they’re thoughtful and thorough. I like the lyric video, dance practice, explanation video then live performance format you’re using. Never mind the haters. Very few people in my real life know I’m Army because I get a lot of sh*t I don’t have time for. I’ll tell them why I love BTS once. But if they don’t get it or at least respect it, then I don’t bother engaging any further. BTS’ message of love yourself has taken over me and I’m not turning back 😁. I’m looking forward to your podcast with Whacha got to say. I love those guys and their enthusiasm. They are, like us, true ARMY 💜

And yes Jhope gets like that when he dances quite often actually, you can tell he's really feeling the music, etc.... it just radiates off of himself. Its insanely amazing to watch. And yes some of the others do something similiar, such as when you pointed out Jimin showing a more intense side of himself. They all have their own unique ways of showing off that intensity. They show it in each of their own ways, in their own styles! But yes, Hobi's is one of the most amazing to watch, at least in my opinion. But that again, that's just one reason that man is called the "King of Dance" and "King of Performance!"

I love Idol so much, I always listen to this song to help me feel better. And I am so sorry that you have to go through that, I was fortunate to not receive any hate when I became Army but I know plenty people who have and it’s not right. Unfortunately there is jealous and hateful people in every aspect of life. I was bullied a lot when I was younger which used to really effect me and get to me but as I’ve got older I realised that they were just being jealous and hateful and that’s normally because they have been hated on and bullied themselves so they do it to others which is wrong. I know it’s hard but Please try to stay positive, think of all of us who are here for you and who love and care about you. Never change who you are John your awesome. You’re one of us now and we always got your back 💜

I’m excited that you’re connecting with other BTS reactors, the guys from WhatchaGottaSay are the first ones I started watching. My question for them is was there anything you found better or was enhanced when you attended a concert compared to just watching videos?

I am really sorry that u had to go through all that shit... But like you said these are the people who dont have a life or are just downright miserable. And like the rapline say in Cypher pt.4 they really should start loving themselves... From all your BTS reaction videos I've seen, you are great guy!!! Keep going 💜

Haters are gonna hate and their opinions don't matter only yours John. I love many genres of music and different artist and BTS happens to be one of my favorites. I have their music, merch, seen them in concert and make their message of "LOVING MYSEL" as part of my life. I've become more positive, compassionate, patience and grateful because of them so what can be wrong about that? Don't forget you have a whole Army who has your back and we protect our own! This New Jersey girl is sending love and positive vibes all the way to Nashville! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I got to see them perform IDOL live at PTD LA and PTD Las Vegeas. This is easily their best song to perform live because of how energized the stadium becomes when they start singing. Everyone is dancing and jumping and it feels like you're at an insane party. Like the whole place is shaking when this song comes on.

You don't have to feel sorry or apologetic for doing something you love, enjoy, and bring happiness to your life. If it doesn't negatively affect other people's lives, it's ok. Also, if people avoid, hate, or walk away from you because of your taste in music, it means they never were meant to be by your side. Don't mind other people and enjoy.

I'm sorry that you are going through the shaming and hate, you are awesome, so kind and genuinely show love. I hope you know that we love you and your family. All of my children go through depression and anxiety, in fact one of my kiddos has the body dysmorphia as well. All of it is so hard to see your children go though. I have my own set of issues but like you I found BTS when I needed them the most, they are helping me get through one of the toughest times in my life. Epiphany was on one-day and I was singing along like I normally do, but found myself crying, singing 'I'm the one I should love.' I had always put everyone above me including my husband, who now I see that wasn't giving the love I deserved back. We are now separated after being married for over 25 years, it's hard to what feels like starting over but I am happier now. I have my family, my kiddos, BTS and ARMY. 💜

My favorite live for Idol (besides the 2018 MMA) is the jimmy falon BTS week one. Also, you should watch the video of Idol shaking the stands where other Idols are sitting. It’s very powerful. I’ll post the links in my comments.

I can't imagine caring enough about what type of music someone else likes, to comment on it, much less take the time to type up a message and click send LOL! Like there would have to be NOTHING going on in my life bwahaha.

Sing loudly 'you can't stop me loving myself' as you block those comments/channels! Most BTS videos/events also have a short behind the scenes shooting sketch which are always fund - you see the guys on set being goofy and having fun.💜

I have been watching for a while and subscribed a few thousand ago, so I am happy to see you nearly reaching 10000, I don't comment often, but when I hear people are being negative towards fellow ARMY, I tend to get positive. So......I really enjoy all your reactions and like the format you are doing for the award shows across the week. thank you. Looking forward to following your journey.

Yes to everything, but one thing missed - I love the little ''trade off!!'' diss after the line 'Never going to change, never going to trade'. A little diss there at all the trade off's in the industry. Chef's kiss!
