great reaction John-Metal, Su-Metal said in an early interview this year after this song was released but before it was played Live that after reading comments of the lyric video that she changed how she felt about this song and incorporated that new feeling into the live performance thus turning this song into an instant BABYMETAL classic that has been played at almost every show since with the cell phone, call and response breakdown, so often in fact that Su has run out of English words to describe how amazing, or beautiful the lights scene is, but of course she always thanks us in our language. She is such a special talent, with an incredible heart, every bit of love they receive is multiplied and sent back and every little bit of hate they receive makes them stronger. long live the BABYMETAL.

I sang the ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part with Momoko with mic (Of course with Moa as well). I did it with my loudest voice in this show. What a bliss! Those drones with cameras that enabled the beautiful aerial cinematograph were manipulated by experts including Ms. Shiraishi. She is a member of team Japan for World Drone Racing Championship. As you may know Western (American) Kami Band played in the girls' back like they did in their North American tour with DETHKLOK. I only went to the 'Black Night' the day before and BM didn't do this song at the night. But I watched this song live at the revival show, 'BABYMETAL Returns' in January. I've been to a couple of Babymetal headlines in Japan, so here is a couple of things I've learned: 1. If you're staying in Tokyo, don't bothering changing hotels to Yokohama. Shin-Yokohama station, which is right near Yokohama Arena, is a 20 min train ride from Tokyo station. 2. If you're a gaijin fan, look for a clump of other gaijin and come say hi. We will all be hanging around for most of the day. 3. Assume that the concert days will be fully occupied by the concerts and you won't be doing anything else on those days. You will want to get to venue reasonably early, as fans will be gathering from about 9am. Will Call, where you collect your tickets, usually opens about 12pm, and depending on how they handle merch, you may need to queue up for that, which can take several hours. Last time they let us book time windows for merch through an app, so the queuing might not be so bad. They will start entry for the show about 4-4:30pm, and it could take an hour or more to get everyone into place. The Sunday show starts earlier than the Saturday show, so the times are different on the two days. If you have a ChoMosh ticket, there may be a different entrance that you need to go to. There is no support act at Babymetal stadium shows, so the actual performance is only about 90 mins. 4. There are a LOT of strobe lights and lasers at these shows, so be aware if you are sensitive to that stuff. 5. Don't forget to visit the Fox God Bar on the evenings prior to the show, fans gather there every evening for a few days prior to the show from about 5pm-9pm (the beer usually runs out by then). The bar is in Kabukicho, near Shinjuku Station. The bar will be closed on the concert days, because Chiyo-metal (the owner) will be at the concerts. If I think of any more, I will add them.

As a Japanese American living in Hawaii on the island where Pearl Harbor is located, this song is pretty emotional knowing that Su is from Hiroshima. If you watch the original visualizer video, it shows a city destroyed by war (or Godzilla!). Check out the piano version of this song on the First Take channel. Its Su, Moa, and a piano and its beautiful!
@stortebeker64647 ай бұрын
Yes, some comments see a connection to Hiroshima, and I think it's obvious. Others draw a connection to the recording date of the piano version. On March 10th, there was a devastating napalm bombing raid on Tokyo, which practically burned the entire city. I don't think Babymetal ever explained whether they wanted to make a connection here. They leave it up to us to interpret it ourselves. But no matter what we interpret into it, they all have one thing in common: hope. I myself come from Germany (sorry, my english is not perfect). We were lucky that the war ended quicker here. If it had only lasted a few months longer, the bomb would have fallen here too. So our cities were "only" bombed conventionally. Like Dresden, which was completely destroyed shortly before the end of the war. First explosive bombs to cover the roofs, then incendiary bombs to kill the people. But hope: When the destroyed Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady) in Dresden was rebuilt, the English Dresden Trust financed the new tower cross. It was forged by the son of an English bomber pilot.

Music is always a kind of magic. It trasforms where, who, what, even when you are. From banging rocks together, through Gregorian chant, and Rachmaninoff, and up to some modern day wonderfully emotional songs, music is affecting. (Yes, with an 'a'.) But it's only very recently that we see such stunning bringing-together of so many people at massive concerts like this. And the emotion is litterally through the roof. (Although not literally, because there is no roof. It's a metaphor. Get over it.) And this one of the best performances. It's an amazing song. It's an amazing band. And _definitely_ Babymetal are amazing beyond amazing. But this venue and the collection of emotion here is stunning. If aliens or gods are watching this planet, I hope they won't pick up NASA or wars. I hope they will pick up this. ❤❤❤🦊🦊

@akatzukianlun4033 the kamiband are session musicians who I sure fir the number years many of them stayed with Babymetal that they are paid well. And while you call them an idol group. That's not what they are. More like front ladies. Much like Ozzie Ozzborn. Or any group that has their singer name. Remember they started as literal kids. Younger than most. Truthfully only folks like M Jackson could understand what it's like to be them. Babymetal is listed as singer dancers. So I think many know what they are. The band comes in the studio and the kamiband comes on the stage. The result is great music and great concerts. Not much to disparage.
@stevechevy3382 Жыл бұрын
@akatzukianlun4033 I'm saying that playing your own instruments isn't everything when it comes to what makes a band. As a musician myself I know this very well. And I don't sing. While in Japan idol group are very popular. For the rest of the world Babymetals arrangement is not what we would call idol. Especially when you go into what Su and Koba have said about they way they make their songs. Su is heavily involved in the song making process. They are not handed songs to sing. They are part of the creative process. From what they have said Su comes up with most of the melodies and they start writing lyrics around her melody. That might be a unique way of writing songs. But it works for them. And their have been several bands that have recorded with one set of musicians and toured with another. I literally can write for days about this. But I'm not. You're stuck in the members have to play the instruments mind set. And that's fine for you. What really matters is the results. You call them idol if that works for you. But for me band group team whatever the case maybe. Babymetal remains a force to be reconned with. And to this day have still charted better worldwide than most if not all of the so called real bands you wrote of. I like many of them. But I don't listen to a band or solo artist or anyone simply because they play their own instruments or even write their own songs. For example. Kenny Roger's had a Hugh hit with a song called Lady. He didn't write it. Didn't play any instruments for it. Still a great song and he done many great performances of it. And for decades couples danced to it at their wedding. And many would tell you Kenny Roger's is far from an idol singer. It's a matter of perspective.
@stevechevy3382 Жыл бұрын
@akatzukianlun4033 they're both bands. Just set up differently. Next are going to tell me it only counts if they started in a garage. Most of the so called organically formed bands start after 15 years old. Su Yui and Moa were already friends for years and on tour by then. This is pointless. You want to follow a group who plays there own instruments go ahead. But understand that doesn't make them better. Only different. There are tons of bands that play their own instruments and stink. And there are plenty of singers who hire session players and stink. I prefer to listen and enjoy live shows from the best of those. Because the music is good. So you can throw labels and discount them. But you're only losing out on good music and fantastic shows by doing so. Oh they're not a real band. Like I have given examples on how that really doesn't matter. Like Ozzie singing Mama I'm coming home. His biggest hit. He didn't write it and he didn't play and instruments for it. He just sang it. Should we not listen to that song now. Or the Kenny Roger's song. Which was actually written by Lionel Richie. I hear what you're saying but sometimes the quality of the music over rides all of that. And Babymetals quality music. And understand that most of the bands you named are big supporters of Babymetal and have publicly said so. Think about that one. If they're supporting them. I think you can too.
@stevechevy3382 Жыл бұрын
@akatzukianlun4033 not simple question. As I have said the are a different kind of band. The trio that makes up the band Babymetal. And the stage band they use called the Kamiband. Two separate entities. Like Ozzie when he went solo. And the band that played behind him. Or Bruce and the E Street band. When the E Street band broke up. Bruce still performed with session players. But referred to as Bruce's band. If you want to see them as two separate things go ahead. Doesn't take a way the quality of their music or the greatness of thier performances. All this just so you can justify you feeling of them being less than the bands you like better. In the end it doesn't really matter.
@stevechevy3382 Жыл бұрын
