I think it's him going from an undergroud rapper to an idol singer at a very young age (that's why it's a child in the music video) and people demanding all kind of things from him and pulling at him (you see them pullig at him). RM was only 13 when he started as a underground rapper. The people who want to dance with him only want to be around him because he's famous (Little Simz said something like you only know my name). At some point he's in a very crowded subway and I think it symbolizes that he felt suffocated (Jimin said in the album exchange documentary that RM felt suffocated). He tries to escape the crazy world but he goes back because his real friend (not the fake ones) is left behind . His friend is the one that helps him cope with the crazy world. (Domodachi means thank you friend or thank you friends).

What I got from the video is in the beginning the kid that was allowed to enter the “adult world” was RM being thrust into the chaos of adulting too soon. Which makes more sense when you see another child helping him navigate through it. Many idols start training as children and some even debut as such. There seem to be people rioting and rebelling, probably against the system they’ve been forced into. And then there’s the train of people all headed in the same direction wearing work clothes symbolizing the everyday routine/ cycle most adults have to go through to make a living. But then the train starts speeding up and an Army pointed out a lyric in another song Yoongi wrote that said something like “if you think you’re going to crash accelerate harder.” and the train conductor, who looks to be in a zombie like state from going through the same motions everyday starts to speed up the train, which eventually crashes giving the boy a chance to escape. I think the child helping throughout the video, is the savior RM wishes he had to help navigate him through the chaos of being forced to grow up so quickly. Especially with how BTS’s career went from 0-1000 so fast, he had to learn on the fly very quickly and being the main spokesperson was clearly very overwhelming. His friend eventually helps him back over the wall essentially giving him back to his childhood, represented by the smaller child that wasn’t allowed through, but he eventually decides to return to the chaos. It could either be to help the other child and stop him from suffering the same fate as the adults or he’s decided to face it head on.

i mean it's even deeper than that. a lot of symbolism reminded me of people trying to escape the gdr and being german, it's impossible to miss those things. people trying to flee on conventional routes which didn't work.if you pay attention, the train tunnel caves in and there's an eye, an observer. also, escape helpers dug tunnels, which was one of the more safer ways to escape and you see them crawling through a pipe that visually resembles a tunnel with people above patrolling. korea has a similar history of a country being divided and the japanese are largely responsible for a lot of war crimes and the division etc.. the kid going back could just be a choice to make, cause people back then had to decide if they wanted to chose family or friends, depending on which side they were on when the division was established and the majority, who didn't live close to the new border, couldn't chose at all, getting separated for decades. a major take away is also that children are innocent and don't have any enemy symbolism or mindset ingrained in their thinking yet. it's also children who need our help the most in cases of unrest, war or separation. all in all, it's saying " i'm reaching out a hand of reconciliation" towards the japanese, hence the japanese lyrics. it's also about the ability to forgive and to show that children are the ones who suffer the most. the mv is quite a statement.

I think it was, in part, a Young Boy battered by Adult Stresses too early, (while his Friend's Father stopped the boy from entering). The Companion helped him avoid the worst by Navigating away from the most dangerous (Police Barricades), but they both were trapped by the Train. They were small enough to thread through the crush and escape the Monster (Godzilla???) at the Track's End. He escaped, but decided he wanted the Excitement of Adulthood versus the Idyllic Simplicity of Childhood. The fact the Song, itself, is in Korean, English, and Japanese, makes me wonder if the Kaiju Eye is indicative of Godzilla - WWII and the Tortured, Entangled, Histories of the three countries?
