What would you recommend for a xxxl glove?

I think many enthusiasts really appreciate clean and simple designs. The Banter is a knife in that tradition like Ray Laconico or Chris Reeve designs.

I love everything about this knife. Honestly I think it's one of the most well rounded EDC knives out there. Its like the definition of EDC cutting tool with a fidget factor.

This is my first “plain Jane” type knife and I love it. Small but not too small, and it’s just elegant. Glad I made the purchase

Finally got my 20CV purple handle version. Love it thus far! Easily one of my favorite user knives. This one the clip can be switched to either side also which that doesn't appear to be so in the version you are showing.

I think Ben did a great job with the Banter. A very simplistic/clean design. Great video once again MC.

On my list to check out. Love the simple aesthetic and the size is perfect for not scaring folks in the office.

Sold mine and decided I made a mistake. Just ordered the banter in blue. Great fidget knife.

One of the most important things that I hope to get out of review of a 3” or shorter knife is some idea of whether the handle will fit my hand or not. Will I be able to get all four fingers on it like the Delica, or will it leave my little finger hanging like the Mini Grip. In your size comparisons, it would help a lot if you lined the knives up by the pivot. A comparison of the total length doesn’t matter to me, but I would like to be able to compare the blade to the blade and the handle to the handle of the knives being presented.
@metal_complex4 жыл бұрын
I used to do that, and people complained that I wasn't lining them up at the butt end. Then I tried to do both measurements and people complained that I spent too much time comparing sizes. The current method seems to yield the fewest complaints.

@@metal_complex Oh, well. If nobody is complaining then you probably aren’t doing it right.

Just got mine in blue today. Love it. Got in the Hecate yesterday too. Both came bone dry with no lubricant but didnt affect the Hecate. The Banter however had good action out of the box but after about 30 mins of opening it I noticed when closing it was...gritty. Not terrible but noticeable. I took it apart and I swear one of the bearings was backwards but cant remember. Regardless a bit of oil and its perfect now. Maybe had something in it but dont think so because it was on the detent ball path. Perfect now. And also it centered up perfect. I like WE added the steel inserts on both sides of the scales internally. Great knife. Pocket clip screws are T4. I thought it was T6 too. And man I love your reviews. Been watching for a good while now. Keep it up.

I got the Ben Blue Banter in the mail yesterday, it seams to a good edc knife. I’ll try using it next week at work and find out how well it holds up.

I knew you'd like this thing! So simple. So capable. And I love the contrast with the blue thumb stud. Gives it a little personality. A definite no fuss knife that anyone will enjoy if they get their hands on one. Nice review brotha 🤙

When Ben created his mousepad, featuring this knife printed on it (before it existed), I liked it right off and wished it were real. As soon as the Banter was announced, I stood ready to pounce as soon at it released. I have both and find myself carrying the blue one more than any of the other 20 blades in my regular rotation. It's simple design and non-scary profile make it safe for public consumption and it cuts great. The blade is a little small sometimes (I typically prefer bigger blades like the Protech Strider SNG or Benchmade Super Freek), but it does most jobs well. Ben did a great job on his first knife. Great review!

It's a nice under the radar kind of knive you know for at youre work place or if you'r a lady who wants a practical little knive in her handbag, you can see that the designer handeled lots of knives And it's a lot of little things some that are'nt directly aparent that make it a great knive.
@LetoAtreidis4 жыл бұрын
I kind of disagree on your point that it's not a knife for a collector. Most of the people in the global knives community (I am from Poland) know who Ben Petersen is, having his first (and for the moment only) knife in my collection speaks to me greatly, this is an important knife to have as its a piece of knives "social history" Second point is that it's a WE Knives S35VN steel knife - if someone wants to own a WE with the real steel but is on a budget this is good entry as it's probably the cheapest WE ever.

I mean sure ya. People can collect whatever they want so I guess you could say that 👍

Just got mine today. Blue model. Very nice. Quality is the same as Civivi. The only difference is the steel. Your paying for the royalties and steel type. Scary sharp !!!

Nice little knife. Being around Boston with foolish 2.5” blade limit, I like carrying smaller knives but still carry manual MT Socom Elites, LUDT etc.The cops don’t go looking for illegal knives, it’s usually just an added charge on top of others. Anyway, I’m fine with Chinese made knives as long as they are good. Spyderco and Benchmade should hire them and learn to make a decent frame lock/frame lock flipper.

With a knife that small I think I'd still prefer a shorter blade with a finger choil versus a slightly longer blade. Ergos don't seem to be an extremely strong point with this knife. Jimped liner lock that is proud of the scales (sticks into the hand), spine jimping could be a bit further forward (as you mentioned), and the scales look thick enough where they could have tastefully used some contouring (and still fit with the basic utilitarian theme). You didn't mention, but it also has the mounting part of the clip recessed into the scales. Nice touch, but no option for flipping the clip to the other side because they made that design choice. I think with small handled knives, a lot of care needs to be taken to keep the clip from digging into your palm when you use it.

Good review. I was wondering how it compared to the Bugout. Only thing better would be showing them side by side. The Bantar is high on my list due to thin blade, liner lock and light weight.

I would’ve loved to carry this knife but not having the option of it being a left pocket carry makes it a no-go for me.

Amazing simple knife! Supply chain finally caught up and I ordered one immediately. Perfect size, nice neutral handle and the blade shape really appeals to me. I have the Ben blue and the only gripe I have is the black thumb stud should match the rest of the hardware. I ordered the black clip from WE unfortunately they do not sell the black body screws.

Unfortunately I'm "that guy" this time. China... I just can't do it. That's important to me in today's climate. I'm sure it's a fine knife. Not knocking anyone that buys one but not for me. I'll pay a little more and give it to an American worker whenever I have that choice.
@Seraph_8884 жыл бұрын
I don’t get it? This knife looks like it’s intentionally designed to be as boring as possible.
@metal_complex4 жыл бұрын
I think it's pretty obvious they weren't prioritizing the aesthetics...
@Seraph_8884 жыл бұрын
It is pretty obvious. But i think even the most practical knife would be look interesting. This looks one level up from being a rectangle with a triangle on top. Haha
@bushcraftingmuslim4 жыл бұрын
I like the boring look to be honest. Seems perfect for when you're surrounded by sheeple. I think it's even more innocuous than some box cutters. If only it weren't made in China. I just can't get pride of ownership when I know that the company/factory are all playing into and growing a system of evil that would never let it's citizens carry knives, let alone other rights.

Lolz that just means you can carry an obnoxiously giant knife or bali as your fidget knife and keep this one for using around....ahem.... non-knife people ;)

Absolutely nothing good to say about this knife especially with the price point for what material/lock/blade they use. But I've been using knives and making some knives longer than many youtubers and commenters have been on earth. So just my 2 cents from multiple multiple decades on the scene.
