First! Especially for a Toor video! Please do more of them. Great knives and great people! I love all my Toors. Do Merchant 2.0 or Suitor.

If anybody hasn't seen the casual interview between Dallas of BladeHQ and Connor Toor at SHOT Show this year lemme just say that sold me on Toor knives -- Connor's energy is just like, "hey I like knives"

Bought one of these and returned it an hour after it showed up. I really wanted to love it but the blade was dull as a butter knife. It could barely cut paper or cardboard. I called the customer service rep and he said unfortunately he hears this a lot with Toor Knives.

Another possible solution to the liners not “lining up” could simply be to slightly alter the processes of production, great video been waiting for a good review on a Toor knife

Got to love Toor Blades! Also check out Winkler Knives and Half Face Blades. Some of the best ever made! You will drop $300 to $500 bucks, each but if I had a choice between a knife or a gun, in a survival Apocalypse Situation, give me the knife! I can survive with it. Guns run out of ammo in an end of the world post APOCALYPSE!

I just picked up the LAST one at SMKWS… the 1 Field model. Their leather sheaths are very WELL made. Not some flimsy leather drop belt loop that every bush crafter knife fits. It’s damm nice. And I like that. $400 and I felt that was a deal. After tax. Craftsmanship superb fit finish beautiful … TOOR keep doing this. The market place is fairly crowded right now… But your sheaths, and knives appear to be well priced and all USA! Impressed. Buy one now before their gone!!!

Small world! I just picked up the exact blade shown here from a subreddit. Your review sold me on it; plus I got a good deal since it was "used".

Love the contrasting copper liners. I have a slighty different Toor model with purple liners. Would have gone with copper if that was available. Gorgeous.

My guide friend broke down moose with his field 2.0 for a year along with camp usage. He's the reason I got mine recommended it up and down. If you're going to use it heavy I recommend picking up a kydex with your attachment of choice. Its a $300+ knife if your doing anything besides displaying it you're gonna want a lock up sheath.

Best thing about a fixed blade is that if something does happen with the handle and the wood expands or contracts, and it break, you can just take the scales off and still use it and if you have Paracord you can just wrap the handle for better grip. Glad you reviewed this as I've seen it online a couple times while browsing but didn't know anything about it. Would like to also see the Toor Merchant 2.0 folder if you ever get the chance.

I’m seconding the idea that we need a review of the toor merchant 2.0 because it’s so cool to have new USA made knives at a good price. Of course with the caveat that final fit and finish on those too have been questioned, but as far as I’ve seen, getting better with each new release.

Most buyers for this tactical knife would prefer a kydex sheath. It would have been nice to have that reviewed.
@bmurphy64182 жыл бұрын
This is a product of their “outdoor” line and not tactical. They have both an everyday carry, field/outdoor, tactical and maybe some others. But this knife is a part of their outdoor line

Some day, I'll own the bigger brother of this knife, a local knife shop carries these knives, I live in SoCal so the toor knives company is near by. The shop I frequent in Julian CA has a very good selection of Toor knives. They make a smaller knife in S35VN which I've been wanting for a while that makes this knife look thin in material thickness.

My TOOR field 2.0 is my #2 knife. The CPM154 is really great steel. I use it a lot, and really like it. My wife picked it out , and purchased it for my birthday. It wasn’t even on my radar . I am surprised at how great of a knife it really is. The leather sheath did not hold the knife very well so I purchased a camouflage toor kydex sheath, and it works great! I lost the knife twice with the leather sheath. Have a great weekend

About the liners. I have seen companies like bark river use seperate G10 liners on their knives with wood or burl handles but they are always flush with the handle and tang. I think liners of seperate material is fine but definitly prefer flush fitment

Man I really like these. Would also be super interested to see a video on some of their folding knifes like the Suitor MERCHANT 2.0 T & the CHASM T, if that's something you could get your hands on. Pretty reasonable pricing also for the materials. Think I might have to pick me up one of the Suitor folding knives.

My experience has been VERY different. The field 2.0 that i got is about as sharp as a butter knife. It won't cut through cardboard let alone paper. I wasn't expecting a super slicer but man is it bad. The coating has some bad spots on the blade and of course the scales don't line up. Made in USA does not mean shit anymore.
@Cid_12 жыл бұрын
I think coatings on blades is a bit more complicated than just what coating is "the best". I think it also depends a lot on how the blades are prepared before the coating how it's baked or treated after it's applied etc. Of course some coatings is more durable (if applied appropriately). I have had ceracoatings that's really durable but also ones that falls off as soon as the knife see use. DLC, Electoplated, teflon and TiNi coatings. And the difference in the same coatings from different brands/makers can be huge. I don't have much knowledge on the different coatings inner workings, just the experience from using the knifes. So it's basically just my theory that the process can have a larger impact on quality then the coating type itself.

Yup. I hate the coating on benchmade adamas fixed blade. It wore off simply taking out of sheath.

My TOPS Dawn Warrior is similar, made in the USA and tough as they come, and at a reasonable price. Not knocking the Toor knife but it has some steep competition.
@bmurphy64182 жыл бұрын
True but Toor is 100% USA made. Some other “American made” knife manufacturers have some stuff they outsource such as hardware. Toor knives even manufacture their titanium screws within their own facility

Huh. Looks nice. I’d love to see you get the Merchant 2.0 on your channel. Looks like it’d be a suitable option to the Sebenza.

In my observation, Toor's main issue is QA/QC. Fit/finish issues happen, but they should be caught before the deficient knives ship out. Toor made up for my issues with excellent customer service, but I really hope they avoid the Benchmade business model. I love my Merchant 2.0 after an exchange - though the lockup is late. Images on the website show lockup all over the place among their folders, so it may be luck of the draw. For those interested in the brand, you must have some patience. I will continue to keep an eye on their future releases and hope they maintain the upward trend!

Love the channel, keep cranking these videos out! We appreciate it! I would like to say though, I feel like you're trying to convince even yourself that this knife is worth what they're asking for 😅. $400 is entering premium folding knife territory imo. There's no way a fixed blade should cost that much unless it's made out of a meteorite lol

If you can sell a knife for 295 and people buy it. Why? Would you sell for 100? Its not 400. I just baught one for 295. All the u.s made knives I baught are between 200 and 300.

@@dougvuillemot8670 I feel u, if people will buy it then sell it but that doesn't mean that its worth that much tho 🤷🏽♂️
@happyhapticsEDC2 жыл бұрын
dawg, what do you do to get your micarta scales "slimy"? lmao.. also, your argument for liner issue doesn't add up.. when you install them usually it's sandwiched together extremely tightly between the other parts of the scale/ cover and then sanded down together to make it almost like one piece with seamless transitions.. if they decided to machine them separately and install afterwards, then that's your culprit.
@metal_complex2 жыл бұрын
Water. Lol. You can try this complicated experiment for yourself at home 👍 How the liners got that way isn't what I'm concerned with. It's THAT they're lined up incorrectly. That's the issue. Keep up 👏
