Sit & Mourn is such a fantastic outro track. I would not say no to an album with more of this eerie drawn out instrumentation feel.

This album is a case of “the sum is greater than its parts”. Some of the songs on their own may be slightly weaker, but when you listen to this album start to finish, they fit so well in the context of the album. It turns it into an experience, not just an album.
@Deletirium8 ай бұрын
Ice Nine Kills is like that for me. They're my favourite band, hands down, but they've made a few filler tracks. (Not many, but some). But when those songs are sandwiched between the bangers, I start to notice things I like about them more in their own right, and end up enjoying it more than I usually would.
@lukesomerville66038 ай бұрын
Personally I feel like the band excels the most when they’re working to create smaller, more explosive packages. A Tear was the perfect example of what they were fully capable of, and I’m glad to see that the Upon Loss singles and this album operate similarly - short, sweet, to the point, and cinematic This album is less than 30 minutes long, just enough to be a full experience that can be revisited often. They’ve found their sweet spot
@borissakharov37948 ай бұрын
@@lukesomerville6603 totally agree. Tear is arguably the beast heavy EP ever to be released imo. In terms of just much thought and care went into crafting every note on that whole record, the video they made for it. Literally everything was perfectly executed. This one is for sure up on that level, but I think tear is just a bit easier to digest. This album is borderline sensory overload at times lol

I watched a podcast where Bryan Garris explained the name and I think it's so sick. He hates flying and was on a plane where he was really anxious and the lady sat next to him asked how often he has to fly and he says all the time, they are speaking back and forth and he later realises she was distracting him. She said don't worry honey "you won't go before you are supposed to"

My only complaint is that i wished they held back some of the singles they released. Blinding faith, dont reach for me, and suffocate are bangers. So to me, it feels like the other tracks arent as good. Maybe my feelings will change after i listen to the album another 100 times

I didn't like this album on my first listen. Warmed to it on the second. But the third made me think this is the best metal core album released in modern memory. Every listen since has really reinforced that. Everything from the irregular & disorienting styles of Dillinger, Norma Jean & Converge to the heavy sensibilities of everyone from the Melvin's, Gojira & Meshuggah... Even the Deftones approach to the ambient tension + the fact knocked Loose have a developed & recognizable sound of their own. Imo this is the best record to have come out in years

I'm digging it a lot more now. I guess I was expecting the new album to be like their last one, just 10-12 songs of bangers. It's different, but in a good way. It's a very fluid album. From start to finish is a journey
