I dont mind the general tech vibe but i do prefer the jazzier line of tech. More reminiscent of the early tech death like atheist and cynic. Less like necrophagist. And no diss to necro. Just most bands took that tech approach

I only ever knew these guys for the pig squeal stuff from their earlier days. I avoided the band thinking they were as one dimensional as the kids who enjoyed that aspect of the music. Man I'm glad I was wrong. This album has incredible depth. Technical without being mathematic or compulsively so..heavy as you like but without feeling corny or forced. Full of grooves without being plagued by constant breakdowns. I'm glad I can appreciate this now.

@DarthWinterMadness
@DarthWinterMadness Ай бұрын
@@lupuslogos2018 That's interesting to know. For some reason I relegated this band as another boring Deathcore band. My memory of some band I checked 15 years ago. Same thing with The Black Dahlia Murder until I heard Brandon Ellis' playing. Then I went through the whole back catalogue and wow... I missed out on so much. I checked Sun Eater after realizing they weren't another Core band and listening to this one. Both albums are fantastic! Intronaut is also really good. I discovered them through Alex Rudinger and his incredible playthroughs. This guy is a machine. Cheers from France! 🍻

Also, the band to me has taken a massive step forward from the last album. From beginning to end, it traps you, and that's an excellent album from Job

Also shoutout to metal blade for streaming all these albums in full on release, I can’t personally afford to support bands regularly so these are awesome. Good on you for putting the music out for us before trying to make as many sales or whatever. Idk it’s just refreshing to see a company give a fuck about the end user. Appreciate ya metal blade !

The most criminally underrated metal band, IMHO.

They were both really popular back in their day but also weirdly hated by many elitists for their core beginnings. Didnt matter what they did. Their scores on the metal archives are whack. Which its the archive. You always gotta take it with a grain of salt. But still. Even at jfacs worst they were never putting out schlock. Demonocracy is the highest rated album at 72 percent. Thats wild.

@@unclebobboomergames Demonocracy is my least favorite, funny enough. Ruination is definitely my favorite so far, but this one might top it the more I listen to it.

@@ScatWiIIiams for me its Sun Eater Doom Demonocracy Genesis Doom Gloom Ruination 2004 demo Ruination caused me to fall out of interest but now that im older it IS better than i remember for sure. Just a lil too samey. Until the album closer. I need more time with moon healer. Its top 3 somewhere. But i need to marinate with it a bit

Was winding down for bed until I saw Job for a Cowboy released a new album. Sick. Sun Eater is still burned into my mind (I CAN... NARROWLY> OVERHEEEAAARR) I have massive love for their "new" era. Felt like I had to elaborate because I've known so many people who only enjoy their first album, but it doesn't matter. This goes Absolutely Massive. Halfway in and I know what I'll be listening to on my drives to/from school & work all week. How is it sinister yet so playful? So existential and omnipresent yet rife with dread? Mathematical and tight-fisted, yet psychedelic with wavy grooves. I just love you guys. There is purpose in your technicality. It's not absurd, It's trippy. \m/

If you listen carefully to the very beginning of the first song beyond the chemical doorway, there is a pitch that climbs...it is what people hear before they blast off on a psychedelic adventure! Fucking love it! A sorrow filled moon, the guitar gives us those dimebag blues squeals...fuck this is soo good!

I can see how people don't find this as heavy fosho however I think it makes those parts that are heavy even better when they hit, nah'm sayin? Plus you can't resist that bass work 😂

I think if all someone is looking for is just "heaviness" then they care more about surface level nonsense. This is tech metal. Idk why theyd even be here
