What is interesting about this song that for a death metal song made by Cannibal Corpse the lyrics are nicely "grounded". No real gore, no brutal visions of insanity (Necropedophile). It seems as if Chris wanted to express real human emotions during gruesome situations without getting too much explicit which would definitely steal the show, and Chris did not want it. That is why this song is so interesting. I would even say this is a philosophical death metal :D :D

The only thing I fear in life is similar situation. I read that this happened to several people - they were prepped for operation under full anesthesia yet anesthesia didn't work . Patients were completely immobilized, everything was showing they were completely numb, yet that was not the case. They were fully aware of their surroundings with all senses through the whole operation. Once operation started they felt ever stab, cut and tear feeling excruciating pain, yet for anesthesiologist every instrument was showing that patient was normally sedated.

@@Nafetzkovski_N some bands you listed are no longer active and many others have members that are less than half the age of the original members. Cannibal has always had a mostly stable line up and the replacement members were from the same generation. I find that pretty commendable, although I admire most of what you listed as well.
