I literally remember listening to this album for the first time in 2004 and my dad yelling at us to shut up in the backseat (we were in his car at the time) so he could hear it. I'd never really given a thought to music other than Metallica but oh my god. Listening to this entire album opened my eyes to metal music and it gave me a drive to expand my horizons as far as my taste in metal was concerned, which consisted mostly of Metallica, Slayer, and Iron Maiden. Also please note, I'm 21 right now, which means I was 9 when this happened. Still one of my best memories to this date. Just sitting in the backseat dumbfounded at the brilliance of this album. Unearth is undoubtedly the band that forced me to expand my taste in music. And I love them for it. Even as a child, I knew musical genius. Unearth and Opeth are in a tie for my favorite band currently.
