I Gotta say. As a black dude who only listened to Urban music coming up, coming from a COMPLETLY different culture. THIS Song here.... Let's say metalcore became a genre and a culture I hold dear in my heart.. This band got me through some tough times man... I'm tearing up typing this. If I was asked what would be some items I would want to put in my casket, this album would unquestionably be one of them. 🤘🏿

Scream along: Shake it off Pick yourself up, they say Your life fell apart in your hands, and you've got the scars to prove it It's not the first time, and they're getting deeper Pull it together Button up your shirt Roll down those sleeves Don't let them see how you've coped It's not the first time, and they're getting deeper More and more your demeanor looks like quicksand More and more your demeanor looks like quicksand It seems like your giving up, giving up on everything you worked for It seems like your giving up, giving up on everything you worked for It's pulling you under It's gripping around your throat It's pulling you under It's gripping around your throat It seems like your giving up on everything It seems like your giving up on everything It's pulling you under (It's pulling you under) Life can be overwhelming But don't turn your back on the strongest crutch you've ever had (You've ever had) They have always been there to brace your fall Wave goodbye to the past You've got your whole life to lead Wave goodbye to the past You've got your whole life to lead Wave goodbye to the past You've got your whole life to lead Wave goodbye to the past You've got your whole life to lead You've got your whole life to lead You've got your whole life to lead It's time to gain some ground

I was like 15 when this song came out. I remember I was going through a hard transition during that time in my life, and this song literally saved my life from suicide. A few things I was going through was Peer pressure, depression, anxiety, finding my identity in Christ on my own, bullying in school, rejection from girls at the time, etc. I still struggle with depression and anxiety to this day, but I’ve learned healthier ways to combat it as I continue to get older. I find this very interesting considering my wife today is a licensed clinical counselor.

This band is helping me quit drinking. The singer has an awesome book out (a daily devotional) and it’s for recovering addicts/addicts in general. Can I get a like for people trying to better they lives and owe it to people like this?💪👍

To this day, I've never listened to any other band where it sounds like the drummer is playing with the intention of putting holes in his drum heads, and cracks in his symbols. His drums sound so much better than everyone else because of how much energy he plays with.

Discovered this song randomly when I was 17 I’m 33 now. I never would have imagined how monumental this song would play for half my life. Lyrics have been battle cry anthem to keep going through the darkest of times. It’s both motivating and cathartic at the same time. I’m also tearing up as I write this… ABR y’all really came through for us on this one especially in times and season where no one else had our back except y’all on this track.
