The lead guitarist is all about the melody and the solo fitting the song, mostly short but sweet, leaving you wanting more. As for the rhythm section, they're one of the best out there at the moment.

Turn Me On has long solo too. Kanami alone is about 30sec but it starts with Misa and end with Akane. the whole solo section is about 45 sec. I think that's the longest not including their live stuff. Unfair Game also has a long guitar solo.

Grew up with the beginning of rock in the 50's & everything since & band-maid is my favorite band today. MISA & akane are my favorite rhythm section EVER! Kanami doesnt need long solos, she riffs throughout a whole song but wouldnt hurt my feelings if she shred a bit more. Love her playing & writing.

I agree with the other comment, Freedom live song for drum solo and Don’t You Tell Me Live for an epic battle between Misa on base and Kanami lead guitarist. I can’t wait to see these musical geniuses play in Seattle 10/12/22. Most of their shows for 2022 sold out as soon as tickets were available.

Kanami usually doesn't do long solos, but she sometimes lets herself lose. Her absolute longest solo is in the song Unfair Game, around 30 seconds. One of my favorite solos for sure. One hell of a song, such a cool vibe, almost Tool like. No good live recording of it and no MV, but it is a top tier song. Definitely one of my favorites.

Same to me, love Unfair Game. But my favourite solo would be in Anemone, the second Kanami bluesy solo. Then Unfair Game, then Daydreaming.

Yeah...she does intentionally skip notes on the tapping. Because you like the rhythm section a lot...I would recommend Play Live. Good dose of Bass and Drums with some great crowd interaction

Miku is the rhythm guitarist. When the band started she was only a singer, she didn't know how to play guitar. Kanami, the lead guitarist, became her sensei, or teacher. Miku has come a long way since she started learning guitar.

The Missing notes are on purpose. Listen to her solo in Blooming to find out how Kanami uses tapping to play with the timing of a song.

Again, these women are the most unselfish band members you will find. They are all very happy when their bandmates are in the spotlight. Band-Maid music is consistently 3:30 to 4 minutes by design. With over 110 songs in their catalog they've never gone over 5 minutes. No problem for me. Just put it on repeat. I enjoy every second of every song. Akane's longest drum solo will be in the FREEDOM-LIVE vid. You won't be disappointed. If you can find the "Don't you tell ME" Live vid you will go bonkers also. BAND-MAID is just too Awesome to nitpik. They have a massive amount of great music to satisfy you for a long long time. Peace. 1.99

You're allowed to love both Asterism and Band Maid! Different feel, both awesome. Here the tapping melody fills in for a vocalist verse/chorus, while the others show their instrumental talent, without taking the focus off the song. Masterful. (I think longest Kanami solo in a song stands at about 26 seconds - but there is a live in Hamburg video worth catching)

We're all waiting for Kanami to have here Freebird moment but I doubt we will ever hear it in Band Maid. We'll have to wait for her to do a solo project. I love Miku's trashy sound of her rythmn guitar, she couldn't even play guitar when they started the band and now she is able to give Kanami the freedom to perform instrumentals live.

If you're waiting for their songs and solos to get longer, you'll be disappointed. It's just not their style to drag them out. They do have some long-ish solos though. Try Alone, Blooming, Rinne, Unfair Game, or the Nonfiction Days (Their longest song I know of at about 4:45 seconds). MISA has a nice bass solo in No God.

Kanami has some impressive and often technical solos BUT that isnt what she is about- she says solos have to fit the song - she also doesnt have an ego - she doesnt believe in just showing off and doing some mad solo thats not part of the song. But also- she is a fantastically ORIGIONAL guitarist- she doesnt sound like ANY other guitarist- her stuff if often chromatic and not stuff you'd normally think of working well where she uses them but they do.. Do you know ryan mear? skilled musician/old time rocker- he says she is the first guitarist in decades to make his greatest guitarists list, that he thought he'd never add to. So dont mistake her talents just because she doesnt do mad shredding all the time. (p.s she writes most of their songs)

Kanami don't do long ass solos. That's just Band-Maid - they don't out shine each other. BUT, she does shred in the background the whole song. In this song in particular, it's an instrumental but it's also a song because Kanami is the lead singer, just not with vocal.

Thank heavens I just like music. It's always bizarre to hear musicians or "musicians" autopsy a song based on their particular set of criteria. One will not listen to the song because they are endlessly counting 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4, another will grimace at a certain vocalization, and/or say this is a D-minor (pokes endlessly at keyboard beside them, or cringingly twangs at unplugged electric guitar)) hmm, no this is an A-flat. (keyboard/guitar) no it's an E-major. (keyboard/guitar) hmmm. No, now it's a partial Phrygian with a chromatic blues variation..." another will "double kick is sloppy" another will "missed this note, missed that note, missed this..." another will utterly ruin all hope of a flow by stopping every 2 seconds and going off on a tangent of "this part is metal. This part is punk. This part is pop-punk. This part is thrash-pop-punk-metal. Wait, (goes back 2 seconds) no, this part is more metal-grunge-pop-punk. This part is..." Idk I feel like being a musician helps me get into tracks a bit more then most, Im not as savvy in knowing keys or timing or variations or genres…I dont think I dive into it that far…I mostly compare it too what Id write and what Id want to hear after the intro starts

I don't know if it impacts their playing,but Misa,bass,and Akane,drummer,were in a band prior to Band-Maid. I've seen 2 songs from that band,but they were not allowed to shine. And,the songs were not good. There are great suggestions in the comments. I will just highlight one,DICE, kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKGkiqGMf71sebs, where the intro is by them and awesome. Bet you can't sit still listening to it. There is a live version on YT where their parts are longer,but the sound quality is not as good as the MV. I'm subscribed,so I look forward to more Band-Maid reviews. Just look at the high number of reviews compared to other music you've reviewed. We Maidiacs will be watching. Remember, when BAND-MAID started, Miku could not play guitar...she just carried around a Rick 620 as an ornament. Then, Kanami started teaching her. She uses mostly Drop-D tuning.

@@GaryHolloway-810 I rather like Giovanni as a song..I heard the instrumental version first...so rarther partial to that...I think it must have been a tricky track for Miku and Saiki to get the words to fit the profile as it is a rather unusual composition. And I think the Kanami's does get a little lost in the album mix. It's Kanami's fingers running up and down the neck of her guitar that hypotized me in the instrumental video with that galloping riff. 🐎🐎🐎. I am sure I have seen a "fan cam" of "Go Nuts"...but I feel it has ben taken down as I have not seen come across it since. As for "Hand Wash"..the masters and princess's can mime washing their hands and waving dry!...hehehe!

MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin , when MISA goes from pick to slap and back , Misa has a technique of tucking the pick in her index finger while she slaps , you were taking about holding for to long like an 8 count it looses interest , same goes for reactors who pause n talk to long trying to explain something your audience can loose interest also , just something to keep in mined .
