Me and my family have Rock and roll in our veins with spirits of Punk-goth and Twice was introduced to me by a friend of mine years ago and never in my life did I ever think of loving a k-pop group so much. They're the complete opposite from my preferred taste of music but ig I like them because they're something different for me. And it's odd because I listen metal/rock 24/7 to Metallica, Judas Priest, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, etc., but they get me happy (and also bts). They're hardworking, amazing girls, and deserve all the love. sameeee, I'm the kind of person who love BlackPink's kind of music genre and style and have stan many group before (totally different from TWICE one). and then I'm curious about TWICE and started to watch SIXTEEN and TWICE Elegant Privat Life, and oh lord I feel in love with them immediately. I even but their album (which I didn't do to others). and be a loyal fans for the first time lol XD TWICE is just really different, people who hate them should learn to know they more. and they really deserve more than what they deserve now. TWICE concerts are universally praised. They got invited and a Tokyo Dome TOUR, and pleased their 250k audience in 4 days while they smashed records along the way. It's crazy enough to be invited for a single concert at TD, but having been invited for a tour shows how legendary TWICE's legacy is becoming. (they're only 3 years old mind you ^^)

Guys, I grew up on Maiden and Priest. My first concert ever was Black Sabbath (with Dio) Mob Rules Tour. My latest CD is Hailstorm (Lizzy is like Pat Benatar and JP had a baby). Just bought tickets to a Twice show in NJ in July. When I listen to them it makes me happy. I don't know why. I don't even like other K-Pop and don't speak Korean but I like Twice enough to travel 200 miles each way. I figure it will be my only time to something so different and weird to me I couldn't pass it up.

Like you guys, I come from a TOTALLY different genre - in my case, hardcore rap. Like, I saw Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, and the Wu-Tang Clan live in the 90s, I cried when Tupac died, and to this day, my playlist is full of Mobb Deep, Pusha T, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, that kind of stuff. You know, as testosterone-laden as good metal - and not for nothing, Onyx working with Biohazard or Public Enemy and Anthrax coming together are still high points of my musical life as a teenager. But then, a few years ago, I came across Twice. And I fell in love instantly, as did my wife (who is again from a different musical background - she's a singer, so it's opera arias and Whitney Houston for her). There is something about them that just instantly makes you happy. And frankly, with the world in the state it is these days, that is a precious commodity. It sounds corny as hell, but the fact that people who are as talented and beautiful as they are can also just be goofy-ass dorks just gives you hope for humankind.

I grew up on almost entirely metal and hard rock, but I'm absolutely obsessed with KPop now, so any general listening playlist I make at this point will be crazy and confusing to anyone else, I imagine. XD I'm glad to see people with wildly different tastes listening to and enjoying KPop, even if it's not something you'd regularly listen to. Also, subbed and totally looking forward to y'all's reaction to Dionysus, because that song and the performances BTS has done of it are amazing. ^_^

I’ve been watching your reactions for a while and I enjoy them every time! I like that you guys appreciate things even if they’re not your particular style, and also that your reactions feel very honest. Recommendations: maybe in the future you could react to some of BTS’s older stuff 😃 (I like their new stuff too but what really made me fall in love with them was their series on youth titled “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life”. Their music deals with a lot of deeper issues, which was actually a big factor in making their popularity explode. Their message resonates with a lot of young people, but you don’t really see that in their newer title tracks). I recommend checking out I Need U (the original version, it’s the five minute one. It’s the first of a series of videos that follow a complex storyline, which they’ve been developing for like 4 years now), No More Dream, or Dope. Also I reeeeeeally recomend checking out Agust D, it’s a song from one of the member’s mixtapes and it can give you an idea of BTS’ versitality. I don’t know if you knew but a few of the members were from the underground hip hop scene before joining BTS. Bts are super cool. There’s a reason why they’re so popular 😆 PS also maybe you can check out singularity by V from BTS or ANYTHING by NCT 😭 they’re super cool, probably the best dancers in kpop and they have amazing vocalists and rappers too.

I was waiting for the words 'too happy'... what gives?! honestly I am with you guys on twice (and a lot of cutesy bubblegum kpop) but watching other reactions I think why some westerners like this genre is because it's so different and doesn't exist in the west. I know in asia they like everything cute so why this genre is so popular doesn't surprise me. also I know I will get a lot of flak for this but groups under big names just get so commercialized to the point their young fan base becomes somewhat brainwashed by all the pr. it's to a point where people stan labels (sounds stupid but true) such that groups that haven't even debuted get hyped like superstars.
