Arena of Verona is an ancient and beautiful roman theatre, a little as Colloseum
@frankygiannoni22942 жыл бұрын
This song was the first attempt of "ecological" song. Via Gluck (Gluck Street) is a street dedicated to German composer Christoph Willibald Gluck (Gluck casually meaning "luck" in German). The street still exists in Milan, next to the Central Station, and Celentano was born in that street. Before WWII, via Gluck was part of the suburbs and there was a lot of grass, but after WWII the street was strongly urbanized and the song talks about this contrast. At the Sanremo Festival, at the time, this song was a flop, but after the festival it was acclaimed. The song was adapted in several languages: in French (performed by French singer Françoise Hardy, title "La maison où j'ai grandi"), English (performed by English singer Verdelle Smith, title "Tar and cement"), Spanish (performed by Argentinian duo Seducidas y abandonadas, title "La casa donde yo crecí") and other languages.

This song by Adriano Celentano is an icon of Italian music. It is the story of a child, Adriano, who speaks of himself in the third person, who lived in what was once the outskirts of Milan, in via Gluck, where there were still not many houses, but the grass, which over time has been incorporated into the city. This boy from Via Gluck enjoyed playing on the lawns, where there wasn't much concrete yet, where there were quiet people who worked and lived happily. One day he was forced to go further downtown. He became an important Italian singer, but he never forgot his old home where there was grass and where he could play on the grass. One day he returned to that street where he had lived, but everything had changed. There were no longer his friends from the past, there was no more grass, but many houses and concrete. This song is ahead of its time. It is the first ecological hymn in pre-industrial Italy. We are approximately in the fifties after the war (World War II). Europe and Italy are becoming great nations and industrial economies. But the regret of pristine nature and the sincere and spontaneous relationships between people remain a huge regret for the older Adriano, who still sees Adriano as a little boy when he was happy, despite having become famous.

It's a great biographical song: via Gluck,in the outskirts of Milan,an area that experienced a strong urbanization after the war,is the street when Celentano was born and lived as a boy with his family. From the text emerges the nostalgic regret of a lost word,that of childhood and part of adolescence,that is,until the singer had to leave the neighborhood with his family to go and live in the center. If you read the text,you can appreciate even more the music and the final risult is very touching. 😉💘

My beloved Adriano Celentano is the author of the first acknowledged rap in music history. That is "Prisencolinensinainciusol". With his famous invented, abstract and not existing "english". Year? 1972. I suggest you, if i can, to hear to that song, and consider how much he was able to anticipate times and styles. Greetings from Rome, Italy :)

Adriano Celentano was for rock'n'roll in the 50's what Jovanotti was for rap in the 80's. In the following decades he became a mainstay of Italian traditional pop. Verona is the town of Romeo and Juliette and the Arena is indeed a very ancient place, it was built by the Romans.

This is the story of one of us Also he was born by chance on Via Gluck In a house out of the city Tranquil people who worked Là dove c′era l'erba ora c′è una città And that home amidst the green now where is it? This boy from Via Gluck Amused himself playing with me But one day he said "I'm going to the city" And he said it while crying I asked him "Friend, are you not happy? You're finally going to stay in the city There you'll find the things that you didn't have here You'll be able to wash yourself at home without going in the yard" My dear friend said "Here I was born And in this house I leave my heart Why can't you understand? It's a blessing for you to stay With barefeet playing in the meadows While there in the center, I'm breathing cement But there'll be a day I'll come back Here again E sentiro' l′amico treno Che fiscia cosi′ "Wa! Wa!" Time has passed and here I am again Searching in vain for the house that I loved Where are the stones, and where are the roses? All these things to which I held dear? D′elles et de mes amis plus une trace D'autre gens, d′autres maisons ont volé leurs places There where the treets lived now there's a town And the house, where is she? The house Where I grew up? I don't know where is my home? La maison où j′ai grandi Where is my home? Who knows where my home is? My home Where is my home? Spero sia corretta 😉
