It talks about an episode actually experienced by Fabrizio and his woman. In Sardinia, where he lived, he was kidnapped and a large ransom was demanded. (At the time, criminals used to kidnap people and get paid to free them). The place where they were held prisoner, in a cave for 117 days, is called Sopramonte, hence the title of the song 'Hotel Spramonte', in an ironic sense. He says these words to his woman to comfort her and tells about their situation. He was released after a large sum of ransom money was paid. However, he decided to stay in Sardinia (Italian island) despite the terrible adventure. Another episode that made Fabrizio De Andrè a true legend. (WRITTEN IN ITALIAN AND TRANSLATED ON THE WEB)

It is impossible for a person who does not understand Italian to appreciate De' Andre, and this is because his songs are his lyrics, music is the frame for his stories that deal with deep, social, existential, spiritual and cultural themes of man understood in the anthropological sense of the term ... De' Andrè was a poet who by chance found himself singing his poems, so only with a deep knowledge of the language can you understand how refined and grasped his songs are!

Adriano Celentano and Angelo Branduardi are very famous italian singers, who are also very very popular outside of Italy. "Confesso" of Adriano Celentano or " cogli la prima mela" of Angelo Branduardi are for example beautiful songs😊

It’s controversial, many thinks that vasco is s**t . Especially rockers and music people in general. De andrè is a master, an icon that has formed the italian culture deeply. De andrè is a poet and he has changed culturally the country. He was even kidnapped by anarchists and suffered a lot. You can’t listen to fabrizio without lyrics

Thanks for the reaction. Supramonte is a mountain chain in Sardinia, where De André and his girlfriend where held prisoner when they where kidnapped. The lyrics are even more poignants if you consider this

Very Great choice Angelo. If it can help you out these are translated lyrics. Much better following them with song: And if you go to the Hotel Supramonte and look at the sky you will see a woman on fire and a lonely man It's a true letter at night, false during the day and then excuses, accusations and apologies without return And now you travel, you laugh, you live or you are lost With your discreet order inside the heart But where, where is your love ? But where did your love go ? Thank goodness I have a mouth to drink and it's not easy Thanks to you I have a boat to write, I have a train to miss and an invitation to the Hotel Supramonte where I saw the snow on your body so sweet with hunger, so sweet with thirst This station will also pass without harm This light rain will pass as pain passes But where, where is your heart ? But where did your heart go ? And now I sit on the bed of the forest that now has your name Now time is a distracted gentleman, it's a sleeping child But if you wake up and you're still scared, give me your hand back What does it matter if I fell, if I'm far away Because tomorrow will be a long and wordless day Because tomorrow will be an uncertain day of clouds and sun But where, where is your love ? But where did your love go ?

Vasco is more famous but "Faber" was more talented in my opinion, he is considered like a poet as the real force of Fabrizio are the lyrics it become difficoult for you to appreciate the whole work. Talking with all the respect, I d give Vasco an 8 to 10 for lyrics and to Faber a 10 to 10, the music of Faber is old style, they have completely different style but i like both, if I have to chose i d prefere Fabrizio but it would be a close victory.

This song was written after De Andrè, together with his girlfriend, were kidnapped by the Sardinian mafia in their home in Sardinia, and it talks about that event Obviously the English translation doesn't do justice to the song because it is complicated to retransmit the meaning
@fabriziopastorino37926 ай бұрын
there is no Sardinian mafia, it has never existed and will never exist, what are the sources where you learn this nonsense
@RubraLIber6 ай бұрын
