I used to like Eminem, but grew outta it. This song was nuts tho, interested in hearing the rest of the album. My theory is, towards the end of the song when the shooter is pronounced dead, the next part of the video has Eminem walking out on stage, almost like he is relieved the shooter is dead. I believe Eminem feels like he has a target on his head at every concert he does, and worries that someone will take him out. But that’s just my take. Keep up the good work Alex

@Marcel Simonin it's definitely dropped to push a anti gun naritive especially since this is what's going to be in the news heavily the next few days. Also anyone who lives behind walls with a armed guard spouting anti gun should automatically be disqualified, they're not anti-gun they just want your guns

Marcel Simonin Ok look I get how wrong it looks & Im not gonna argue ur wrong: maybe Em needs to drop the Slim Shady persona that loves writing politically incorrect lyrics & stirring controversy. The only problem I have with this is this the same shit that happened 20 yrs ago. Em wasnt even as popular then as he is now, but people still give him shit for the lyrics he writes - HIM, out of all the other people. Rly? In a genre known for homophobia, misogyny, sexism and promoting drug use & violence where rappers talk abt killing cops & other niggas, and fucking bitches; people target Em? wtf? Thats the one THING that detractors NEVER address, & it just baffles me. No one ever explains y - is it cuz Em's white? Shit, I mean Em himself addresses this in his music abt how people seem to just love to hate it cuz he's white (I think one example is the song "White America," I could be wrong tho havent listened to his music in a while but he addresses this in a LOT of his songs). I agree with you that Em can't be doing 2 things at the same time, it just doesnt sit well with me how no one ever talks abt the fact that Eminem always seems to be the scapegoat of rap and hiphop - even in an era where the controversial nature of his music has toned down and he no longer makes songs like "Kim." So tell me, whatsup with that?

Nah, he's still going to use the hip hop head title for metal reactions. Not many people would click a video that says "Hip hop head reacts to Eminem" or "Metalhead reacts to Slipknot" most people who watch reactions to music are looking forward to seeing someone's first experience with a song. Poser or not, Alex makes it very hard to tell if he's faking reactions or not. I think that's what keeps people like you and I watching other than his positive attitude. (Also, Alex.. I'm not saying you're faking it, I'm saying people coming from loudwire thinking they're legitimately hating on you won't be able to tell the difference.)

As stated by the other fella. Survivor's guilt is very hard to deal with. When I heard of Mac Miller for example I was doing the same shit that killed him when I got a text saying he died. It often haunts me of "why me? why not me? why him?" I heard death calling my name when I had a car crash, like Mac Miller. I really felt that I was not going to be lucky again. Long story short I'm 1 year and 3 weeks clean. But survivor's guilt still haunts me. But like Mac said in his new album "you're feeling sorry. I'm feeling fine."

Disturbed has a song about how we glorify these shooters too it's called "Legion of Monsters." It's a fantastic commentary on the the world we live in, these people commit horrible atrocities, and the media plasters their photo everywhere, in a sense glorifying them and making them famous. That statement "When will this end?...when enough people care" could be less to do with gun reform and more to do with us caring about each other...especially those who suffer from mental illness...our emphasis should be about being the social guardrail at the top of the cliff than the procedural ambulance at the bottom.
@Emci31

Yes and no. The shooter's in most cases are not mentaly ill or disordered. Let me ask you a simple question. Why in America must every home have at least a gun?
@ThrashTillDeth85
@ThrashTillDeth85 4 жыл бұрын
@@Emci31 Well as for the mental illness part neither party wants to actually fund it or come up with solutions besides ban guns or ban video games neither of which work or do anything to lower violence. Then as for many high profile mass shooters that the news shoves in our face 24/7 they had a history of mental illness and had exhibited some obvious cues that they were gonna do something. Take the kid from Parkland for instance he had been expelled from the school prior for threatening to shoot up the place and had an extensive arrest record in addition to making a comment on KZbin that he was gonna be a professional school shooter which got him investigated by the FBI whom determined that he was not a threat, then he was investigated by them again 5 weeks before the shooting after an anonymous tip said he got a rifle and was planning to do something with it. The kid that shot up the Walmart in El Paso his mom had called the police days before then and warned them something wasn't right and that she feared he might go and hurt people in addition to his record, I could go on about these people but we'd be here a while. Then if you're at the point you're gonna go out and commit an attack on innocent people you're mentally ill no way around it because no normal people has those thoughts. As for why must every home in the US has guns it's because 1 the second amendment recognizes the right to do so and 2 people in the US own guns for varying reasons, some like to simply collect them but not shoot em, others only go out hunting, some collect and shoot their guns because they're old guns from eras long past, they participate in shooting competitions, they're a reenactor, they own one for self/home defense, or they own them because the government says you don't need one as a middle finger to those that say that. Then most importantly lots of people own them because the purpose of the 2nd amendment is to fight against enemies both foreign and domestic and to overthrow tyrants in the event that all other options has failed to remove them or reason with them. Now let me ask you a simple question, have you ever seen actual gun death statistics from the FBI and how they're broken down?
@Emci31
@Emci31 4 жыл бұрын
@@ThrashTillDeth85 ok i must admit you have right but to us European people it's quite hard to understand your 2nd amendment that thing is written almost 200 years ago I'm confused.And regarding your question no I didn't.
@ThrashTillDeth85
@ThrashTillDeth85 4 жыл бұрын
@@Emci31 Well it was put there because the founding father had just came out of a war with a tyrannical government that overtaxed them, would not allow them to be represented in the govt, forced them to quarter troops at their expense, and tried to seize weapons of theirs. So they wanted to give later generations the means to deal with it like they did, the 2nd amendment also is the thing that protects the rest of the constitution such as the freedom of speech/religion, right to a trial by jury and a swift trial and many more. The founders also recognized that government by nature will try to encroach on these liberties and curtail them as government is ever expanding and will corrupt those in power by the nature of the power they wield, so it is the method citizens have to remove them when all else fails, the 2nd amendment is also there in the event of an invading army that they have adequate means to fend them off whenever the military isn't there to do it. Which I will say that as a reminder in the US the first 10 amendments were written at the same time and no one argues that they're not relevant due to their age. Now sorry for the info dump that's coming but this small portion has a lot of things to go over, so for firearm death statistics according to the FBI there's about 30-34k deaths total per year, out of those about 60% of them are from suicides then out of the remainder about 10-12k are firearm murders which 80% of those murders are gang and drug related. From there the remaining number is justified shootings, police involved shootings, mass shootings and deaths by accidents involving firearms. Now the deaths from mass shootings in total account for about one one thousandth of one percent of gun deaths in the US because the majority of mass shootings are actually gang related and committed with handguns despite what the media says about the scary looking rifles. Then according to the FBI and the majority of gun murders and shootings occur in cities with high amounts of gun control such as LA, NYC, DC, Baltimore, Detroit and Chicago where it is nearly impossible to get a gun legally, and taking those cities out of the equation the US firearm death rates drop to below a lot of places in Europe. Which compared to other means to kill another person firearms are actually pretty low, the FBI has found that hands and feet is the most common method followed by blunt instruments, then knives then firearms and that's only in murders in actual death statistics firearms are extremely low on the chart compared to ant of the following: heart disease, smoking related illnesses, medical malpractice, drunk driving, car accidents, and cancer

Lyrically and storywise, this might be Eminem's best song and music video up to today. I love how the entire song not only CONSISTS of double entendres but IS in itself a giant double entendre, as each and every double entendre links in to BOTH (seemingly opposed) stories you can read from the same text. I also love how he neither glorifies nor demonizes the killer, but instead shows the common humanity in both, the creative process of an artist and the destructive process of a killer. It makes you question things without pointing a finger at scapegoats: Much like 'Stan', 'Darkness' mentions the role of the media and our voyeuristic, star- and anti-star- struck society without excluding personal responsibility. I file this piece of art under the same category as movies like 'Dog Day Afternoon', 'Network', 'Taxi Driver', 'Nightcrawler' or 'Joker'. Lest we forget there is a Slim Shady lurking in each one of us. Nice one, Marshall Mathers! On another note: By all means check out 'Vicarious' by the band Tool. It also belongs into this category of thoughtful social commentary.

It had been a long time since I cried over a music video but this hit me so hard. Here in Iceland alot of people have guns but they are only hunting guns (shotguns and rifles). Hand guns and assault rifles are totally illegal since their purpose is to shoot people and not prey. The police here do not carry guns but they can get access in an emergency.

I’ve never made a focus of listening to rap. But I have now had some training in lyric writing from an established songwriter. This song must have taken a lot of work, time, effort, soul searching, time, revision, research, time, rewriting, reimagining, and time. There’s too much artistry, too much polish and skill for it to have come together quickly. There’s no wasted words, which is exactly what you want to be able to pare your work down to. Eminem is apparently a lyricist worth listening to. I say this as a someone raised to view him as evil because of the religious establishment’s views, and as a metalhead. Thank God I’ve learned to appreciate skill where I see it now

I heard this song for the first time the other day after hearing about the controversy, didn't know what it was supposed to be about before listening, but I instantly knew by the end of the first verse. I've dealt with anxiety and depression my whole life. That shit is easily recognizable for people like me. He was comparing himself to the shooter. Mental illness is the issue, not guns.

Both are, both needs to be worked with, it is impossible to stop mental health fully, which is why yall need to not let almost anyone get a gun. Strengthening mental health help while also strictening the gun laws are The way to go. Guns does not make People safer, rather makes them less safe.

Alex I just wanna say that with bumpstocks they did not make his rifle semi automatic, the rifles were already semi automatic but what they did was simulate automatic fire by having the stock slide back and forth rather than being still and it allows one to pull the trigger each time as long as they pull forward with their other hand and the result is that it's like automatic firing. Now the difference being that a semi automatic fires one bullet per pull of the trigger and will not fire any more if you hold the trigger down like a handgun for instance, even AR-15s work this way, then automatic fires more than one bullet per pull of the trigger and will continue to fire if you hold the trigger down much like rifles have been depicted in movies and video games. Now here's an interesting bit about the shooting the police say that despite all the rifles in the room he only used 2 as those were the only ones showing signs of being fired, now those rifles only had 30 round magazines but if you've ever heard the audio he fires for about 10-15 seconds uninterrupted at a rate of fire of about 750-850 rounds per minute, now an AR with a 30 round mag and a bumpstock can only fire at that rate for maybe 2-3 seconds at most. Strangely enough too he took over 30 seconds to reload said rifles which only normally take only 2-3 seconds to reload and then when SWAT entered into the room they never found more than 20 spent casings in the room and the window was not broken, now keep in mind with this guy he had never fired a gun in his life before this and yet he was able to use something that takes experienced shooters a while to get consistent rates of firing without it stopping or sputtering. He also despite being a complete novice to firearms knew how to calculate for how the round drops over distance accurately and the set up for his rifles and how he allegedly used them would have actually made it harder to keep that constant rate of fire with a bumpstock, and then his brother was apparently found in a later raid to have had over 10 terabytes of child porn on his computer despite said PC looking like it was from the late 90s. Now getting back to the rate of fire there is actually a belt fed machinegun that has a similar rate of fire and report to the audio from the shooting that MG is used by the military and several others in the same caliber of an AR-15 in 5.56 caliber
