The deeper you dig into Ren's back catalog, including The Big Push, the more you understand how his broad musical foundation informs his original work. He's a very well rounded and deeply knowledgeable artist.

The Big Push is truly something special. I have not been able to climb out of that rabbit hole once I started listening to them. More please. They are tight and you can tell they truly enjoy making music together.

Yes, please do more Big Push. They have covers of paint it black, sympathy for the devil, and jumping jack flash with Gorran singing lead. Their original songs are great too. These are recorded live, and then mixed by Ren.

These guys are just amazing! They killed this performance. Right before this song, they did a mash up of I shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion and Hip Hop which is also worth watching. They also do a cover of Englishman in New York which is great. Plus a lot of their own songs. So much to check out! Watching them live must have been just insane! Great reaction ❤❤

Man I was hoping to click right on to this and start watching. I'm glad you're doing ren now. I'm a renegade like so many others and trust me when I say that he has more music than you can do once a week. And now that you see how good Ren is you really should start doing at least one a day!

In a recent YT interview, Ren said that he is a perfectionist and spends many hours mixing the sound for both The Big Push’s and his own busking videos. About 4 years ago, he commented on the recording process on one of TBP’s other busking videos when someone how asked how they achieved such great sound. Here is what he said: “Line inputs running from each of the busking amps into a H4N recorder. Then the H4N condenser mic placed in front of the amps to capture the ambience of the street. Then another iPhone mic recording the drums (just set on voice recorder). Then mix all that together in post on Logic with some light compression and EQ to make everything pop, and voila!”

As an old metal-prog-punkhead from the 1970's, I was so happy to stumble across Ren earlier this year. I got sucked down into the rabbit hole so hard that I broke both my legs, metaphorically speaking. The Big Push's original Watch Out from this same busking session is great, as is their version of Lonely Boy/Paint It Black. Another favorite of mine is Swan Song, another original that has a totally different vibe--like an old English folk song that's very haunting and beautiful. Great reaction, btw! 🤘

@@sigally it gave me the gut punch I'd get from Trent Reznor back in the 90s. I can't listen often, because it makes me feel SO MUCH. I've said so many of those words to myself and others in my lifetime. For me it's his most vulnerable piece. For a zero dollar budget, the video concept and execution is phenomenal. But to know in that health state, he was out in the freezing cold, laying on concrete? You can tell that it comes from a place of almost no hope. And for those who complain about Bibi, and whatever went on there, she was in the video... that speaks volumes in and of itself.

Romain is a criminally underrated guitar player. His solo stuff is nothing like anything from the big push but its absolutely amazing, such soul and passion. His Channel is Romain Axasia and would recommend checking out some of his solo stuff, very unique sound.

You'll love The Big Push, all their busking videos are great fun, particularly on a big screen. With their wheelbarrow to transport equipment. Their original music is really something special, I think you'd enjoy it. They are kinda Garage Rock/ Post Punk- reminded me a lot of The Libertines, The Hives maybe even Black Lips depending on the song... plus more. Ren started out as the drummer for the band, but quickly realised he wasn't the best drummer out of the band members. They all can virtually do it all, multi instrumentalists, talented vocalists and solo musicians in their own right.

Loving the reactions! For hard rock Big Push, try ICARUS. For Ren rock try CRUCIFY YOUR CULTURE and for Ren acid rock try CRUTCH (although you have to wait for the end of the song to get his impersonation of Marilyn Manson.)

Crazy Train was in there too. So, I would suggest another mashup from that same day. I Shot the Sherrif/Road to Zion/Hip Hop just musically awesome as well as Paint it Black guitar work, base etc. is top notch. (same day as well).

When The Big Push does covers, they weave 2-4 together at a time and it's more masterfully done than anything I've ever witnessed from other bands except The Grateful Dead, who built their entire live show persona around the practice. Seriously, they manage transitions so incrediby well (and have a great ear for which songs to blend). And you'll find it in some of Ren's busking videos outside of The Big Push - he's got some incredible mashups busking with Sam Tompkins, and with Chinchilla. (Don't ever hesitate to invest a reaction into his collab videos... Ren's sick. He doesn't have the energy to dick around; he only "gives" his artistic creativity to other brilliant artists. Therefore, to date anyway, any collab you see on his channel is highly worth checking out even though you'll never have heard of the ither person before).

Yo bro! You're in for a treat! My guess is Money Game (there's 3 of them), Genesis, then Genesis Live version, & the Hunger. He recently passed the million subs. milestone and put out a video to check out Look at his backstory. The amount of positive energy envelops him now, like a big fat happy bubble. Yup. Big Push is brilliant. Each member quality lead solo talent and their synergy is fantastic. This! Going off on a street corner? Imagine in a huge arena?! After playing together for years, they broke up only last year and each now doing solo stuff. REALLY hoping they get back together in some form. Maybe a few arena gigs per year? Who knows.

You’ve got some great suggestions for a the Big Push here! I just wanted to add that most of the busking videos on The Big Push or Ren’s YT channels were mixed by Ren (EQ and compression). He talks about this in an interview with The Charismatic Voice.

The set this was filmed from was amazing. The finale was unbelievable, they did their version of The Rolling Stone's Paint It Black. You'll like it too. Fyi. Romain has a solo career. On utube for one. He is a good singer and song writer also. Band had to quit when Ren went to Canada for treatment of his lymes disease.
