“Survive” is one of the standout tracks from The Warning’s debut album, XXI Century Blood, released in 2017 when Dany was 17, Pau was 15, and Ale was 12. The band had already been performing this song live a year before the album dropped. A big moment for the song-and the band-was their performance of it at their 2017 TEDx talk, “You’ve Been Warned!” That TEDx performance helped introduce *The Warning* to a much wider audience, and many fans discovered the band and their music through it.

The best thing about The Warning songs..... Is that they write them to let us all interpret them as how it connects to us, as listeners.... I find that magical!!!!!!

Up until a few months ago, the Teatro Metropolitan concert from 2022 was the go-to concert. The Pepsi Center concert was from Oct. 2023, but the footage from it was just recently released, and many now believe it is the best concert available to see their talents.

@@GreatOutdoors1 Aaah my mistake. It would seem I got them the wrong way around. I knew there was one that WAS the gold standard until recently when a newer show upped the ante. Thank you for correcting me.

And soon to be eclipsed by the upcoming concerts in February 2025 Mexico City where 10,000 fans will lend their energy to the ladies of The Warning!!

Teatro Metropolitan is still the gold standard for the songs that weren't played at the Pepsi Center: Queen of the Murder Scene Ugh REVENANT Hunter Though, one could argue that if you want a more raw performance, Lunario is better for QOTMS, Ugh, and Hunter. One could also argue that Narcisista at Teatro Metropolitan is better because Pau is unleashed from behind her drum kit.

@@Dale-m9t If historical precedent rings true, it will be around 02/2026 before we see that one. The whole Pepsi Center concert was available one year to the day from the original concert, a pattern similar to the Teatro Metropolitan release.

@@MetalHeadReactsRather minor mistake, on the order of putting more money in your parking meter than necessary. Both are outstanding.

The main reason, as far as I'm concerned, that their live performances are better is because they are enjoying doing the performance. They aren't just out there to do a show. The are out there to give the people who spent money on tickets 110% ever time.

I agree, for the most part, but don't forget about Lalo. His live mixing capabilities are next level and it makes a big difference in how they sound.

Super reaction! SURVIVE is special for many fans and a very early song, also: they did it with the SAME amazing energy already at their 2017 TEDx performance, age 12, 15 and 17!!

I would normally recommend more of TW's original music but they provided everyone a wonderful surprise about 2 weeks ago. They covered Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know live at the Sirius/XM studios and they crushed it. Definitely add it to your list for a reaction. Keep on rocking and you've been warned!

The cool thing about The Warning is that they keep evolving. That first album is amazing, especially considering their ages at release. Frankly, I like the whole thing, and won't skip songs when I play the CD. This performance of *Survive* is, arguably, their most powerful, but the most special performance is the 2017 TEDx Talk closer they did at University of Nevada. It really shows the determination and bravery of three young girls with a huge dream. As I understand it, Pau wrote this about a friendship breakup. It starts more like a Broadway show tune than a metal anthem, and it ends in a straight-ahead rock jam. As for lyrics, these ladies are extremely well read, and they write most of their songs in their second language. They've said it's much easier to write in English than in Spanish. They're known for unabashedly using words that few US citizens have ever heard, such as 'debase' in *S!CK* and 'bemuse' in *Crimson Queen.* Their fourth album approaches some pretty deep themes, especially with *Apologize, Consume, Escapism,* and *Satisfied.*

When you see a 15 year old Pau with two pony tails flailing hard out on the drums and putting Animal from the muppets to shame as she tries to fly using said pony tails. Also during this performance Pau breaks a stick and tosses it away and picks up another without missing a beat. Then there is 12 year old Ale grooving to the beat as she lays down an amazing bass line that really shines through. Dany rocking out hard and trading vocals with Pau. It was the TedX performance that really showed they were serious about where they wanted to go and just how much joy they had for performing. As for lyrics, The Warning write some very poignant and sometimes very dark lyrics. Check out their song "Copper Bullets". I won't tell you what it is about as I would like to see what you come up with. The Warning also don't often say what their lyrics mean, they do sometimes, but they also write the songs in such a way that it allows you to come up with your own interpretation. Interpreting their lyrics for their album Queen of the Murder Scene was fun, and during their Vlogs they did give some idea as to what they were trying to convey, but they also said they loved what the fans had come up with as well. They put a lot of effort into their lyrics and it really shows, especially when Pau can sing a very short song, Breathe, that can bring you to tears. Black Holes is another song with very deep lyrics that deals with a dark subject, again I'll let you figure out what those words are saying.

Thank you for your comments on The Warning. I think you are barely scratching the surface of their music and there's so much more to see and learn about them. As for your mention on subs, I can only speak for myself. I would need to see you post a lot more frequently, especially with regard to The Warning, and then there's the issue with the length of your posts. Although your commentary is excellent, I'm not very often willing to listen to someone talk for half an hour about a 4 or 5 minute song. That's not to say you're not worth listening to, I just personally prefer reactions that are less than 10 - 15 minutes in length.

your channel you do you, I never got why someone would watch a reaction channel then complain about how the reactor reacted. like hello aren't the lyrics part of the song? if you want to see the whole video then go to the source of the full video.

They put a lot of effort and consideration into their lyrics. Was the person taking you to task for looking at The Warning's lyrics? That would not be a very The Warning thing to do. Another early song, Unmendable, is reputedly about an offered recording contract gone bad. I suspect this is about something similar, perhaps a label trying to sign them. A number of labels did try to sign them, but demanded changes in their music, stage dress, etc. and those labels were sent packing. But I think it's likely about the recording industry, rather than a romantic relationship. Musically very different from Have A Cigar by Pink Floyd, but same kind of theme. Incidentally, David Gilmour is one of Dany's major influences on guitar. They have had only one manager, Rudy Joffroy (pronounced Hoffroy), and they are very close, practically family. Their father is officially co-manager, but he tends to be more involved in the technical side. I have never heard anything about the origin of this song. I suspect it was one of the later songs on XXICB. It's my own favorite. Musically it's euphoric. It's also their longest song. As for live vocals: they put enormous effort into it, and the live videos are newer, so correspondingly better. Even though this is an old song, they have continued to refine it (witness Dany's angry "your words mean NOTHING!" In the last chorus).

Queens of Rock. This is my favorite song from The Warning. Yes, they have many phenomenal songs, as that saying goes, " different strokes for different folks", but it is special to me and it starts off my playlist every day. Cool reaction, you take a long time to say nothing, hahaha, and you still have 24 minutes to go. Let's see what happens. Yep, you take a long time to say nothing. People's opinions about metal and violence, some people are just ignorant, better than being stupid. Hahaha, looking for your next reaction.
