about the "400 caramelle" (translates as "400 candies" ): Many Italians probably don't know that back in the 70's for a few years (after the oil crisis' inflation) many shopkeepers used candies as a mean of exchange - so if you bought lets say a capuccino for 1800 LIre (the old Italian currency before Euro's arrival) and paid with 2 banknotes of 1000 you'd probably get the rest (200 lire) in candies not money!! That situation was getting really ridicolous and Vasco gives a really faithful picture of that era. If that is tricky to understand to some Italians (too young) one can imagine how difficult it is to foreigners who don't speak Italian nor understand Italian history to get the real essence of Vasco Rossi.

Ok. You are impressed by the crowd. You can appreciate (or not) the music. You can give impressions on his look or voice. Buy you forget that he's the writer of the lyrics, those lyrics song by thousands of fans alltogheter in his concerts. You Better should start from there... You should ask yourself why those lyrics are so popular, and why he's so genuine on the stage. Music has evolved over the years (by the way, check who's playing drums and who's at the guitars..), But lyrics are the same, and survived and spread over 3 generations. It's a mix of poetry, humour, metaphors, his personal style in describing feelings and the use of common language, slang used by anybody anywhere in Italy. It's a pity you cannot appreciate this.... This Song isnjust a joke, a 'divertissement'. PLS check another masterpiece of vasco: 'siamo solo noi' or 'colpa d'Alfredo' but start from the lyrics those time 👍 PS i like your videos

the theatrical side of Vasco is very difficult to understand for non Italian speakers - he's actutally acting/playing various colourful characters...it's less about the music and more about "theatre" here (or a short film a story telling). here is another great example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJzElGaMlr2gd68 A sarcastic view on military life and the cold war - it translates as "We aren't like the Americans...they shoot the Indians..." - very refreshing, unpredictable, daring and innovative and it was on national TV in the 70's (when TV was also brave and daring). btw: when he sings "Non Siamo Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiica gli Americani..." the "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" simulates the sound of a falling bomb (crazy genius).
