Great video, great trailer, looking at one too. Why did you choose the FR tent though??
@fooshadventure3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you, we actually had the tent already, we wanted a nice light tent to work with our Jimny, so rather made a way for it to work with the Genie.

Question: when it is raining or with hot sun, how do you protect the kitchen area? Also the height below the opened tent doesn't seem high enough for easy access to the clothes side?
@fooshadventure Жыл бұрын
Hi, we use an awning on the kitchen side, we have designed brackets (the video is on our channel) that allow the awning to be lifted when the trailer is parked. If bad weather we add a fully enclosed awning room, which has a zip opening in the side so the kitchen can be accessed from with in the room. The side under the tent we use as a utility side, so don't access it often, we have our clothes in the drawers at the back, easy to get too there (w have a video too on packing the genie that might show that better)

Nice videos - thx. Would you perhaps have any documentation on the EU-homologization (?) as it was imported to EU? Any knowledge to share? (Plan to import to Sweden) Did you order a "stripped down" version of the Genie? Or are all of those without the "extras" as kitchen, batteries and electrics etc ? THX !!

Hi, thanks for the reply, we are in South Africa, but we do know that the Metalian is imported to Europe, my suggestion would be to email metalian and find out who the supplier in Europe is, I am not sure of the spec options available in Europe, but they will be able to answer your questions. In South Africa, sales@metalian.co.za the Switzerland partner is markus@metalian.ch I hope you are able to get the answers you are looking for, through these contact addresses.

Your setup looks really cool! Out of curiosity, how much did the trailer cost excl. the rooftop tent?
@fooshadventure3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nikhil, we ordered ours during lockdown, before the raw material prices increased, so for an accurate price it will be best to contact metalian directly, they can email you the price sheet with the different options available.

@@fooshadventure Thanks for your reply! How does the Jimny handle the extra weight? I’ve got a full roof rack on mine which noticeably upsets the centre of gravity so I’m intrigued at the possibility of hooking up a trailer to it.
@fooshadventure3 жыл бұрын
Hi, we were also in the same position, loading the roof rack, after chatting to other jimny owners that tow, we decided to go this route, and looked for a small, light weight braked trailer. We are still working on kitting the trailer, when work allows, so havnt been able to do a trip yet, but hoping this summer we will be ready.
