How does the roof hold up with all the weight? I´ve been trying to find out what the recommended weight limit is for the roof.
@highergroundlifestyle3 жыл бұрын
No issues whatsoever. You don’t even notice it when driving. Remember also that the weight limits quoted by Suzuki are dynamic limits. Best Wishes. N

What have you done to your antenna? Can you hear radio whine you are driving?
@highergroundlifestyle3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, the antennae goes back on when the tent is folded!

Is there a risk of damaging the car if you sleep on top of the tent as a heavy-set man? I'm a heavier set man around 90+ KG, is there any risk of damaging the car sleeping up on top if my Jimny still has stock (wheels, suspension, or etc)?
@highergroundlifestyle2 жыл бұрын
The roof limit is a dynamic one. So be careful when driving but should be fine when static! I’m a similar weight and haven’t had a problem.

Very nice video thanks a lot ! I'm just worried about heavy rain when it's windy (might go under the waterproof cover ?) and heat when it's cold out side : is it possible to close everything to keep warm the inside ?
@highergroundlifestyle4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks. Sadly I have not done as much as I wanted with the tent due to lockdown in the U.K. but planning more this Summer. I’m not worried about heavy rain as there’s a big overlap on the fly sheet and everything seals up nicely. You’re also sleeping on a proper mattress which helps greatly! Best wishes. N

Hi I have been watching a lot of your videos recently, they are very helpful. Do you know how high the car is with the roof top tent on?
@lb90433 жыл бұрын
Sorry, with the tent packed away (I'm trying to gage the overall height of the car with the tent on packed away for underground parking)
@highergroundlifestyle3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for taking an interest! My Jimny is 1.8m high to the bottom of the tent bracket. The tent is then a further 0.3m high. This makes the whole rig around 2.1m high - but remember there are different rack heights available and tolerances may differ. Best Wishes. N

Hello! Do You thinking about (bolt-on) wheel reducers?
@highergroundlifestyle4 жыл бұрын
Андрій Соловйов Hi, do you mean wheel spacers? Not something I have looked at. Have stuck with stock wheels and tyres for the time being. Cheers. N
@soloway-l1o4 жыл бұрын
@@highergroundlifestyle Bolt-on portals! That's correct name of those things :) I'm sorry for my translate.
@highergroundlifestyle4 жыл бұрын
Андрій Соловйов Wow - I’ve just had a look at those. Basically a different way to get a lift! Hadn’t seen them before but will do some research. Have you any experience with these?
@soloway-l1o4 жыл бұрын
@@highergroundlifestyle No, I haven't. I'm making some research. It let's You stay with original engine, axles, gearbox and use smaller wheels and get big clearance. Some of them lowering the gear ratio which means that Your gearbox will be appreciated but you'll lose in top speed. In any time you can go to stock and get yours original car. It's overkill features :)

Sleeping on a thick comfy mattress in a very solid roof tent doesn’t seem masochistic to me.

@@highergroundlifestyle It does appeal to me, I've always had 90s and Defenders in the past. I'm just trying to convince myself that that little Jimmy isn't to small for me.

@@farangtravels3956 Watch some of my videos! My Jimny replaced a 110 that was bought new. Many of my videos have been about coping with less space and comparing the two. It’s fun thinking in more compact terms and the Jimny is so much more fun!
