And then, years later, you are able to work with him, composing a bad ass song, shoulder with shoulder, treated not as another fan but as an equal. Props Dave. I don't see many people saying this, but I agree. He has an amazing voice. So textured and emotionally raw. I feel like he puts everything into it instead of just trying to sound "metal" or monstrous. His vocals juxtaposed with Big Steeve's tortured howl on Obscura is like nothing else I've heard in metal. (Well, obviously Obscura as a whole is like nothing else I've heard in metal.)

It took me a while to really appreciate what Luc was doing with the new Gorguts material. Now, I simply can not get enough of it. It's fresh, and takes metal music in new directions.

Absolutely. Quite complimentary to eacb other. There is even a little connection by way of Martyr/Dan Mongrain. Dave has said that Martyr is a huge influence on his style and Dan played on From Wisdom to Hate. This track even has a similar heavy-as-bricks minimalism to the sound of FWtH.
