So many hidden gems on the Vita. Been recently playing a great little 2D platformer puzzle game called A-Men by Bloober Team. Unlike the PS3 version it has ad-hoc multiplayer. Also Rocketbirds Hard Boiled Chicken and its sequel are both truly fantastic platformer/shooters with great soundtracks and a decent/hilarious story.

The nice thing about Vita these days is that, unlike the 3DS, the online store is still supported. Every now and then I'll power the old thing back on and discover some new games that I missed back in its heyday. Back then it really felt like the Vita didn't have a lot going for it, but nowadays I'm really surprised by how many great, unique games exist for it!

Best portable console. Perfect for travelling. Perfect fit for pockets. Keep making videos on the PS-Vita MJR. I love when you post videos on the Vita. Brings much needed awareness to games and the console itself. The more talk about the Vita, the better the chances Sony comes back to the Handheld market. They were able to make a full Uncharted experience on a small handheld. I would love to see a handheld with Spider-Man 2 that’s much smaller than a Steam Deck. There is something really special about the Vita. The games were good, the OLED screen very good for the time, it’s the perfect handheld size unlike my bulky Switch OLED. And I love the fact that I could leave it in sleep mode for weeks without it losing any power. My Switch gets almost completely drained in a few days of sleep so I have to power it off completely. There is also something about the graphics of Vita games that I love. Even when the games are ported to the PS4 or other consoles and get 1080p or 4k remasters they have a certain style. A certain feel. Almost like they are ultra crisp versions of old school Ps2 graphics.

a game that i loved on vita and rarely hear people talk about is super time force, it's a cool side scroll shooter style contra with a rewind mechanic. The story is awesome and really funny with many different character to choose from and offer different playing style.

The Vita is great, even better if you modify it so that you don't have to deal with the horrible quality of the proprietary memory cards. That Air Race Speed game reminds of an old DOS game I had called Tunnels of Armageddon. I found it at a hardware store during that time in the 90s when seemingly every store had some sort of PC games section.

I really wanted to love the Vita. I bought it thinking it was the breakthrough for a new level of handhelds, but looking back it's kind of the apex of the old guard. The switch was what I wanted the Vita to be, and the steam deck is what I actually wanted. Still a great handheld that I sunk many hours into!

I would like to add some hidden gems to the vita list: Pato Box- a Punchout clone with a sin City aesthetic. Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon- a puzzle platformer where you have a limited amount of web to catch insects. Fronisher Says- a warioware clone. Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery - similar to a Professor Layton game. Atari Flashback Classics- best atari collection until atari 50 came out. Some of the games, like combat, offer local mutiplayer on single vita. Super Exploding Zoo- tower defense puzzle game with fun artstyle. Deadbolt- a 2d stealth action game where your are death itself, taking out the undead.

i rebought a vita in 2023 and i have still my 2013 save on my PC, boot up and download again the store games and get back when i left 10 years later. amazing the store is still there for thos who want en OEM original legal experience. Dude was that Hawken at the end? I miss that game. The Metal Gear Acid games 1&2 where fun on the Vita and I wish I could play them else where. The Vita was a PS1 porting machine and so many great games got ported to it. Puzzle Quest 1&2 where great on the Vita and glad they made it to other platforms as I LOVE match 3 games but with RPG elements.
