I've followed Stryper for a long time. They have always been great musicians. Michael and Oz are both masters of the guitar. They are actually a dual guitar machine. Robert is in my opinion one of the best drummers period. Tim Gaines when he was around was an amazing bassist. Now they have Perry playing bass.

Stryper my all time favorite Metal band. I first heard their second album Soldiers Under Command in 1985, then in the later part of '85 I heard their Yellow and Black Attack. And then came 1986. Ive bought many cassettes of the same album To hell with the Devil... I just can't stop listening to their first three albums. All the best guys.

In between the long hiatus of Against The Law and Reborn, it also gave us 4 great Michael Sweet solo releases (Self titled, Real, Truth & Hims). Michael definitely didn't stay silent. I still spin those 4 CD's in my car, to this day. Cheers!!

The only, solitary area which I think that Stryper have missed the mark on their latter 3 records are putting some pop metal songs in there, too! I think that they are the greatest METAL band EVER, but I believe that they are getting a bit too close to being power metal these days! I love 'em-love the newer stuff! Don't get me wrong, but where are the "Calling On You's", or the "Always There For You", etc.?! Anyway, I still take my hat off to the entire '81-'84 (no later!) LA glam bands, and especially Stryper! Keep rockin'!

I would love to hear Robert sing a song .I think he is alot more close to the Lord than people really know . He's really humble . I feel he has alot more to say sometimes about God and isn't able to for reasons . He is my favorite member of the Stryper band . Tony, thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately production doesn't always work like it should. It took almost 2-years due to people not sticking to their word or agreements, very unreliable so I had to start developing my own company. We stopped filming not long after this due to the these issues. Andrew (The cameramen) and I finished this, the audio isn't produced but Michael and Robert shine. Thank you.

MAN this live of 'Revelation' ROCKS!! I wish whoever mixed the album would have mixed it this heavy sounding!! The album version is much softer sounding, but this live recording is just great sounding! Love the razor sharp heavily distorted guitars and the killer bass drum sound!! Stryper has done nothing but get better with age!! Love them!

Great interview, great answers. I remember thwtd coming out, I was 18. Never considered the cover an issue. But it was only a few years after some secular bands were taken to task over back masking, occult influence etc. So alot of people were nervous about heavy music and looking for demons around every corner. Stryper was the heaviest band of Christians to come out then. Even my mother questioned my interest, and after a Rez concert I asked Glenn Kaiser if he considered those guys genuine. He said Rez did a gig with them and theyre genuine Christian brothers. Glad they stuck with their message rather than catering to the industry. There's genuine Christians living their faith and being real, then there's genuine Christians living a strange genre and speaking Christianese lol! Sounds like these guys met a few of those too.

Hi there , not sure what you mean by puke metal,but theres always a place and Need for Christians to Play Death Metal and every rock/metal genre.There are awesome Christ-centered bands that make extreme Metal.I personally needed bands with much more challenging lyrics than Stryper when I was looking more into the Lord and the meaning of my life.Stryper were my first Christian band and I really felt theiy were anointed from Above,but the Albums God most used to challenge me were Tourniquet Stop the Bleeding and Mortification Scrolls of the Megilloth.Curiously enough Ransom Ransom too,much more like Stryper.I do hope that by Death Metal Garbage youre not including any Christian DM bands cos theres great brave ones out there.

So, speaking of the Visual Timekeeper's percussion what is the piece of drum equipment right in front of the drumset? It is shoulder level and looks like 2 roto toms. Saw this on tour when they played my hometown in 2016. Love the interview BTW. The guys are so real.

Ray, at 24:55 Robert and I talk about this. They are to rings from Roto-Toms placed onto a hi-hat stand that are actuated like hi-hat cymbals. Terry Bozzio made this famous with his one man ostinatos when soloing or using as a sound effect in a song. They offer a tight metallic "chick" sound or almost a bell ring when struck in the open position. Rög

Excellent interview, but the original THWTD was always limited edition. It was not changed because of complaints. Soldiers also had a limited edition white vinyl edition and the re-issue of YABA had a limited edition blue vinyl - Enigma strategy for upping sales.

Dante, you are correct!!!! A mistake on our end that was too late to change. On my vinyl there is a white sticker talking about the limited edition cover. However, there was massive backlash to that cover at the time that made it so it was pulled from many Christian/Religious stores. Crazy times... Thank you! Rög
