When you hear critiques of new Metallica material, it’s videos like these that make you realize that these songs would’ve been accepted if they were of a different time. We only put it under a microscope cause it’s NEW. When you’re a band whose covered so much ground and has embedded such a legacy, everything is under scrutiny. 72 Seasons should be appreciated for what it is, a product of where a band together for 40 years is putting their best foot forward.

@@jamieshawcross7816 Oh, how quaint! It seems like we have a bit of a cognitive dissonance going on here, don't we? While it's true that recency bias and nostalgia bias can influence our opinions, it's also possible for someone to have a genuine appreciation for a certain style or era of music. Perhaps it's a bit too nuanced for some to grasp, but let's not dismiss someone's preferences as being "stuck in the past." After all, it's not as though we've evolved past enjoying music that's come before us. So, while you may be content with your new-fangled tunes, some of us prefer to revel in the glory of music from a bygone era. But hey, to each their own, right?

This sounds totally awesome! The rhythm guitar and soloes are spot on, chef's-kiss great! James' vocals don't even bug me unchanged. \m/ One thing I absolutely cannot stand is how modern day, neoliberal Metallica just privatizes the shit out metal through their own brand. And perhaps there'd be less insult to injury if they simply had better production choices, but it's like they deliberately mix their tracks badly on purpose! As your video aptly demonstrates, it only takes a simple recording with an old-school mix (and better solos, of course) to show how sub-par their current recording approach is. Sadly, Metallica could make St. Anger recordings for the rest of their career and never have to worry. Their live shows always sell out selling out because they've marketed themselves as the kings of metal to the largest possible audience-i.e., the vast majority who never listened to the classic stuff and first discovered Metallica with their breakout, '90s material that pushed beyond the thrash/progressive metal genres into groove, hard rock, country and radio-friendly material.

This is awesome man, a proper guitar production makes the riffs a lot more enjoyable and less repetitive. I don't think I can listen the original anymore lol. I hate the thin guitar tone powered by digital amps that Metallica uses nowadays. It sucks compared to the 80s and 90s fat "analogue" tone powered by the mighty Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ amp with high gain. I really don't know how James can prefer HTSD and 72S anaemic tone to a massive tone like the one in KEA, RTL, MOP, TBA, Load/Reload or Garage Inc. 😢

Sounds great, but needs the high-pitched screamy Hetfield singing.

Sounds incredible! Please do Room of mirrors! Some minor reverb on the vocals can't go wrong.

Already subscribed and can't wait to hear your next ideas, this rework sounds down to the details like a RTL track. Can't imagine what'll happen when you start reworking songs with the Load/Reload tone.
