If you see how they’re positioned once they all sit on stage, there’s a space between James and Jason with the spotlight on the empty gap. That’s Cliff’s spot.

Jason is an excellent bass player and after Cliff died Jason became the heart and soul of Metallica. He was so happy to be in Metallica and he showed his love of the music and respect and appreciation for the fans every single show. Having said that there is no one who can play Cliffs bass licks like Cliff especially with a pick and thats not a crack on Jason its just a fact. I think Cliff would have liked Jason and thats the ultimate compliment. Just to end this Robert is a great bass player also and has done well with Metallica and helped continue the legacy. How many bands can say theyve had three great bass players?
@seanj36673 жыл бұрын
NOT a knock against Jason, but he was absolutely not the heart and soul of the band. They never truly accepted him, never treated him as an equal and just never did him right. That's not his fault, it's mostly James' and Larz's fault. Cliff was an innovator, an original. Replacing him with Jason was like Ozzy replacing Randy with Jake E. Lee. Yeah, Jake had talent, but there was only one Randy.
@richardpowell46433 жыл бұрын
@@seanj3667 Jason was the heart and soul of Metallica to the fans not to the band. If you attended a show with Jason there it was obvious who was loving the moment and there for the right reasons and who wasn't. Jason was a fan of music and it was obvious and his love of the music passed off James because he lost a big part of that when Cliff died and so did Lars and even Kirk to an extent. Cliff would have loved Jason and they no doubt would have been good friends. He also would have been passed at the band for how they treated Jason.
@seanj36673 жыл бұрын
@@richardpowell4643 I saw them several times. He wasn't the heart and soul of anything. And James made his life hell. Again, not a knock on him. James and Lars were just jerks.
@richardpowell46433 жыл бұрын
@@seanj3667 I've seen them 8 times. The last with Robert, the first with Cliff and the 6 in between with Jason. Seeing Cliff on the Master tour was amazing and nothing could top that for me but Jason was always the most energetic, full of life and always connected with the fans. I remember the load tour the stage was in the middle of the coliseum and the guys came our and walked around slapping hands with the fans. James Lars and Kirk made it half way around and went to the stage. After two trips around they had to tell Jason to get on stage. He loved the fans and playing live. He also took Creeping Death to a whole new level and made it his song. I've messaged and talked to many people who saw the same. The fact is Jason had to take over for Cliff and he did it for 14 years and he did it well.

Uggh i cant play my guitar cause it buzzes in frets 1-5
@retrocny56256 жыл бұрын
Action is too low at the bridge or the truss rod may need adjusting(take some relief out of the neck, make it straighter. Get the neck perfectly straight, and then put just a hair of relief in the neck so it's bowed ever so slightly like in the shape of a U. In all honesty, there's nothing wrong with having the neck straight either though many prefer having a little relief. And when I say a little, I really do mean a little. Plenty of things can be the cause of fret buzz. But I'm almost positive that you simply have too much relief in the neck which is why you're getting buzz on the 1st through 5 frets only. The strings are closer to the frets closer to the headstock, but don't buzz after that. I'm also gonna guess you're fretting out notes on the upper frets too, getting dead notes that don't ring. Take the guitar to a tech, have them set the neck & action(and intonation while you're there) and watch them as they do it. It's absolutely not impossible to do it yourself and a lot of people make it out to be brain surgery when it's not, but you definitely want to learn from someone who knows what they're doing before you mess with it for the first time.
