People forget how influential Lars was at this time in thrash. This album was completely different than anything prior. Each song on this album was a marathon. Each song was a complete composition. No wonder he took a break for the next decade.

I know James looped vocals too on this album because it hurt his voice (listen to isolated vocals and you can hear spots that sound exactly the same) so It makes sense that Lars would’ve done that with drums. Drummers who can play this song: Can I skip leg day now?
@Omarmohammedd5 жыл бұрын
I dont know anything about musical instruments i mean like nothing, but this is so satisfying to watch, sorry for my ignorance but what is the double bass thing that everyone seems to talk about? Is it when he moves his legs so fast?
@travaskanazori5555 жыл бұрын
Yes. The big drum that you play using your foot/feet is called the bass drum. In certain genres, the bass drum is played with two beaters, two pedals and two feet - and this type of playing is called the double bass. “Dyers Eve” features a lot of impressive, high-tempo double bass. I hope I answered your question.

@user-ih5jr8rt5q well I do have an S23 Ultra now lol. But yes it does sound way better in my 2022 Bronco in which I installed a 12" sub with a 980W amp. It pounds!

@@mawage666great! hahaha killing the car battery is something else! my sister's bf in HS wired his own car's (a cougar) sound system, and one time driving with it blasting, the car lost all electric power, because he wired it wrongly and drained the battery

Lo que me gusta de tus vídeos es que eres auténtico y sencillo. Sin ser pretencioso o como otros que son asquerosamente cremosos. Bien!

Wow, that’s a tough song to play. The double bass sections that are in between the rolls seem especially difficult; switching back and forth between the pattern and full roll… super impressed. Thank you, sir!

lol probably. Lars can barely even do them doubles. I used to be able to shread my feet that fast but don't really play doubles anymore after I got into more of jazz and technical rudiments. I need new pedels first though cause my shit SP pedels are played out and dead.
