Birth, School, Metallica, Death era was Metallica at their best. IMO. The only thing missing was James taking a drink of beer from a plastic cup and spitting it over the audience.

Yep. I think that for the last 35 years they are releasing one boring album after the other. And Kirk is playing the same solo in every song.

My god, when I heard it I smelled alcohol, I remembered how much this song was used in clubs and parties.

James's throat sounds very tour weary and strained. Especially on the "Exit light....etc" parts. Compare with the performance at the MTV awards just over a year earlier, very noticeable change with a lack of grit in his voice. I mean I'm not surprised tbh, the amount of shows they were playing as well as the length of them in support of the Black album was intense. As well as the drinking and probably not taking care of his voice. Certainly got that side of things sorted nowadays tho! The whole band is just delivering killer live shows that feel like they are somehow getting better and better as they get older.

32 years ago, different electronics, no auto tune. Mixed for tv etc….
