Amazing videos and very well-structured classes! I suggest playing the entire song at the end of the class! It would make it easier for all of us to practice along the song! Could also create more engagement for the KZbin algorithm.. I guess...
@TimHolman11 ай бұрын
That would trigger a copyright claim which is why I'm careful as to how large my playing clips are. I want to keep my 25 cents per video coming in. Lol. I would have to do that in a separate video. You're not the first to suggest this though so I may look at putting those videos out as a supplement. They might do extremely well in the algorithm too!

@TimHolman Жыл бұрын
I agree that's the trickiest part of the solo. No real secret except the picking. I would recommend copying my picking exactly and then practice over and over to a metronome to ingrain the movement.

im having trouble with the first 5 cords...….I'm beginning to get discouraged, I think my fingers are just to big? I cant get my finger on a string without it literally touching the top string and the bottom string of the one string I am trying to put my finger on
@TimHolman2 жыл бұрын
This is a common problem with this song. When the pinky is used on the A string, it kills the D string and kind of destroys the flow of the riff. Maybe your fingers are too big (I've met one person who's fingers were too big to play a guitar. He would have needed a neck the width of a dinner plate to play his fingers were so enormous) but failing that, it's just a technique thing. I would guess that you're coming down too much on the pad of the finger and not enough on the tip. Your wrist should be quite straight when playing this progression. If it's bent a lot then you will have trouble with finger placement. I hope you don't give up and get it figured out. Thanks for watching!

@@jack-o-trades304 Wow, so..... I have been getting really good (I think at piano, this year). Come this September I will begin to to swing towards the Gibson Epiphone that's been hanging on my wall, just waiting. I had zero musically in my entire family, so I had really nothing/nowhere to start from but the absolute bottom. I knew nothing, chords, tempo, rhythm. I really grew in a year on the piano, so I intend to begin guitar the exact same way, not knowing anything. Hit me up in a year from now, I betcha I will say things about guitar pretty similar. I really like learning and everyday of practice I actually see me getting better and better

1:35:34 hey man im really having trouble with this part should i just play really slow and work my way up to speed?
@TimHolman2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you should always play slowly until you've got it. That's really the only way to train the fingers to play it properly. Also move the pattern around. Don't just play it at the 12th fret. Play it at the first fret, the 7th and everywhere in between. Take the pattern that you're having trouble with and move it up chromatically a fret at a time and do it with a metronome.
