Spot on, though I’d say this new prime started with the Met on tour-videos in 2018. This is also probably the best FtB-version both when it comes to sound as well as actual playing/arrangement.

@@HittokiriBattousai17 That's my feeling as well. These guys are pushing 60 years old... but man lately they've been playing these songs like it's their last. I don't know if they found the Fountain of Youth during Covid or what, but their energy, sound, and effort has been outstanding lately. Not to mention the terrific cinematography and great mix from all these shows.

@@Fister_of_Muppets Well, they are 60 but they have the best doctors, best gear, best food, best medicines, best everything, really, so its easy to excel. I just feel like they're playing exceptionally good, almost at Black Album level. Maybe its the C19 lockdown break they had, maybe they finally found balance and peace of mind, who knows. I wouldn't mind them retiring after Hardwired, it was a kickass album.
@Fister_of_Muppets
@Fister_of_Muppets 2 жыл бұрын
@@HittokiriBattousai17 true, they're wealthy, but they deserve it. I never begrudge anyone for being successful as long as they're honest about it. I feel like the guys have been reading the comments over the years and stepped their game up. I also feel that they've matured enough now (especially Lars) to appreciate their success. I think they will debut a new album late this year or next, and after that they'll probably ride off into the sunset. I don't see them hanging out on the road forever like the Rolling Stones, but I do see each of them contributing to music in other ways.

I remember James saying this is the song of theirs he'd choose if alone on a deserted island and could only choose one song from their own discography. So yea, this song means a lot to him, I'msure. I can imagine why. Even at the point of this being written, James wanted a "better singer/vocalist" in the band so he could focus on guitar. This was also the first time he sang a song like this on record. Needless to say, James' vocals are the perfect match for the band.

Also really love how Kirk has been working in more free styles into his solos putting some twists on it, keeps that unique feeling every time you hear these songs, and its like going on a ride when he hits it as he goes off, just hanging on for the ride, then brings it back towards the end to where its familiar. Really adds something special to these live performances and keeping that feeling of seeing something for the first time where as so many bands just play it exactly like the original track. If we wanted just that, we could listen to it at home, but live its nice hearing it as if its something everyone is hearing for the first time.

Agree but it's a fine line that he's crossed (imo) too much in the past where it seems like he forgot the damn solo lol. I love when it's like 90% original amd 10% improv, vs sometimes it's like 50/50 and I'm not a fan of that much improv cuz it begins to sound like doodling. Have a good one bro!

The older they get, the better they sound! I’ve seen them 4 times (3 in the past 4 years) and am about to see them again in November and every concert has left me thinking that they sound better than ever. God has truly blessed them with an incredible gift ❤

Primeiro concerto da minha vida com 16 anos. Fiz uma viagem de quase 4 horas para ver Metallica e depois esperei mais 7 horas no recinto do NOS ALIVE para os ver. Consegui ficar na fila da frente. Valeu absolutamente a pena. Ainda consegui ir para casa com 3 palhetas :) Nunca me vou esquecer do ambiente incrível em músicas como a Fade to Black, Moth into Flame, e... Bem, todas elas hahah! VIVA METALLICA E PORTUGAL 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹

Been there. Awesome concert, incredible audience. Hot as hell, listening to this masterpiece, which is Metallica's my and my elder daughter (teen) favourite music. We were not sure they would play it and her face of happiness when she recognized the music is going to be forever engraved in my mind. Thank you Metallica!

Great performance, but I wish Metallica would release the MadCool Madrid 2022 live performance and James talking at the end about suicide and reaching out for help if you need it. Those fans in the Met family know they have that support 🤘🏼

The band is the hardest working band in the land. They are so refined and polished in their performance it's glorious, haunting, and mesmerizing all at the same time.

I am 18 years old, I came to enter the Pedagogical Institute. I bought a cassette player and a cassette with the album Ride the liting. That was the first time I heard the song Fade to black. It was a real shock! 🤟

Every show i seew of them, this one was my 9th show, i always leave sad at the end because i'm always afraid that there's a chance i would never be able to see them again live, this time i left with a deeper feeling that in fact was the last time i saw them live, but at least was a fucking awsome show. Metallica will always be my favorite band, their music is a life changer for the best. There will never be a group of guys like them. "You are note alone"
