My dad was in WWII and was shot by a German soldier, getting the Purple Heart. He was unbelievably strong. He was my best friend. He died 4 years ago, so when I see all of those crosses and other gravesite markers, it hits hard, because that's what it looks like where he's buried. Sometimes you never get over the loss of someone.

My Grandfather is a WWII Veteran. He was in the South Pacific. He’s 100 now and still says that ‘Saving Private Ryan’ is the only movie that comes close to accuracy on how absolutely horrific it was. He survived the Battle of Bougainville. God bless our Veterans, our true heroes. It’s a shame many of these great heroes who survived the wars are now living to see the fall of the country they watched their brothers in arms die for. None of the survivors really ever came home… Most of those men were 17,18,19. My Grandpa was 17 when he went to war! Imagine that. I will always love this song and Metallica! 🇺🇸🌹🙏🏻

I really appreciate how much the movie tries to show the effects of war, and there are some people who flex their militaries to others without even serving in the military. I Hope This movie and scenes depicted give them the sense of horror that a soldier will go through for the country. Some people sitting in the comfort of their home write comments dissing militaries, for them I hope that this serves as a eye opener. Military should not be expendable but treated as the last resort. And it's our duty to not just shout for war with a sense of pride or ego. Instead try to coexist, sadly though I see bickering in comments which is a huge disrespect to the people who sacrifice so much. Hope this changes and I will always respect those that sacrificed their lives for our freedom and I hope a war like this does not happen again.
