As a Metallica fan I didn't really care much for this performance but I gotta say, Lady Gaga did her best. All in all it was kinda cool honestly and not something you would see everyday. But yeah, as someone pointed out in the comments this was just a rehearsal. In the actual performance James mic didn't work so they ended up sharing a mic, which made it all even better actually. In a day where every single little thing must somehow be scripted and rehearsed a thousand times, the actual performance on the show captured the essence of rock n roll, where shit sometimes goes sideways and you just gotta go with the flow. Respect Lady Gaga, respect Metallica!

"They're going to get blown!" "By Lady Gaga?" That's what she said! Apart from that, she brought her metal attitude and did a good job. Sounded very Girlschool (the longest existing all female heavy metal group)a few times and a couple of notes sounded very much like Ann Wilson from Heart but the dancers in the background were unnecessary and distracting. We only want to see Metallica and Lady Gaga. Everyone else is just getting in the way.

This was the rehersal, In the show James Hetfield's mic failed. Her performance was better in the show, but yea her dancing was., a bit silly, and the background dancers were ridiculous, and not in a good way. You will never see anyone dance at a metal show like that. They should have left them out completely The original song without her is better, react to that video.
