I could see you weren't feeling it, Rebeka. That's a song I would have suggested doing the studio version first. It's a fast and hard song to begin with, but they really ramp it up live. It's all about the energy and crowd interaction, and you lose some of the musicality and nuance that you get with the studio recording.
@Mr_Joe_B_6192 жыл бұрын
And a little advanced. Start Off with Nothing Else Matters, then Orion, then maybe this or the VIDEO of "ONE" needs to be the video. Starting off with some of the Black and Load albums are actually better to break the cherry with than using Albums like …And Justice For All and Master Of Puppets. They are too chaotic to understand for the first time. You need to settle into it like familiar.
@seanemery60192 жыл бұрын
There's a lyric video out there on youtube somehwere. That's a great place to start with this song. You will really enjoy the live versions after you've gotten familiar with the studio versions. Live is much faster with more audience interaction.,

Yeah the lead singer James Hetfield that’s what he does he really pours his fucking heart and soul into his performance because as a front man that’s what you do. As a front man it’s either you go big or go home. And this live version of master of puppets is just God tier level energy I mean if anyone cannot head bang to this then they are not human. This live version drives me insane and really wakes me up in the morning and gets my blood flowing.

To appreciate any live performance, one MUST hear the original studio recording FIRST. This establishes what the original "vision" was, the arrangement, the mood, all that crap. Once one is familiar with the "original", THEN the live performances deliver more of a punch or impact, cos you can recognize the improv and changes and variations that often occur when played live. That's just my 2¢, but I firmly believe it as gospel.
@kennysoriginalmusicchannel59162 жыл бұрын
Great reaction! This is definitely a more angst infused less subtle song from them. It's about drug abuse and the relationship of the drug with the addict. I had a therapist when I was younger who said that anger is just sadness turned inside out refectling the solid shell of a more valnerable softer emotion hideing within. It only reveals the angry element of its complex idenity because sadness is often seen as a emotion that's lacks strength but that's obviously a misonseption. It's like a person who's depressed putting on a facade of a tough person to hide thier pain so no one knows they are in reality wounded by life's sometimes twisted path of unseen road blocks ahead and the uncertanty of not knowing what's to come. So basicly the same band that can make you cry can also make you rage and mosh because they have an amazing ability to express thier complex emotions in thier music. Under every solid foundation is the soft broken soil beneath.

1986: Around the end of that summer, my parents discovered a cassette copy of the first heavy metal album I ever owned, a little number named "Master of Puppets" by this up-and-coming West Coast band named Metallica. They didn't bother *listening.* They took one look at the cover and the artwork and decided--- that I was in *trouble,* that I was in danger of possession by SATAN, that I was sick and on a dark path and in serious need of HELP. (Readers of lyrics would discover that the album is an anti-war, anti-drug plea for understanding for the mentally disturbed, but never mind.) 2022: I check out RLB's reaction video for the title track, and--- there is an opening message shout-out to the need for responsible *mental healthcare.* :) And so goes the circle of life...

This is Metallica at the peak of their powers, and right before they went from the biggest metal band in the world, to the biggest band in the world, period. This whole show is perfect. Check out Seek and Destroy or The Four Horsemen from it. They're heavy, but not too crazy, and a solid introduction to early Metallica. This is the stuff that made them their lifelong fans, the early years. The Cliff years, at least on tape. That was Jason Newsted on bass here.

This is favorite song by them. For so long, I loved just the song. However, I’ve realized that the path the song goes along is what really does it for me. It’s something I’ve looked more at with metal in general. The idea that you can do, as you sorta mentioned, more than one song and find a way to combine them without it just seeming like a mess.
@robertovasquez15382 жыл бұрын
Don't worry if you didn't like it, because Heavy Metal is not for everybody. That gesteurs on their faces, that anger in their voices matches perfectly with the lyrics. Master of Puppets is about how the drugs dominate the consumers until their own death. You've reacted to a masterpiece 🤘🏼🎶

Great Reaction Rebeka! Not everybody likes heavy metal like this, but that's okay, at least you listened to it and were honest about your feelings about this song. You would probably like a band called Nightwish. They are very popular in Europe (founded in Finland) and they are classified as Symphonic Metal, but they are not nearly as heavy as Metallica and they have a female world class singer named Floor Jansen. They are one of the most reacted to bands here on YT and there is a big Nightwish Army that watches reaction videos of them.

Can't go wrong w/Metallica if: - it is a track on MASTER OF PUPPETS - it is a track on .... AND JUSTICE FOR ALL - Blackened is THE Best song they ever wrote and performed. ("whipping dance of the dead" - r u f*cking kidding me? - single, best lyric EVER written) - Fade To Black - it is a track on either of the 2 GARAGE DAYS albums (cover songs) - oddly, I have never seen a "reactor" react to any of the GARAGE DAYS tracks - well, I take that back. From time to time I do c a reaction to Whiskey in the Jar. But, nothing else and there are plenty of good tracks to choose from. Any of their other songs, don't waste ur time. In this performance, the boys had not begun to make a boat load of money, no wives, kids, marriages or rehabs. They had bellies full of piss and vinegar. Cliff's death was still emotionally raw, they were drinking like fools and it brought out the type of music written and performed on MASTER OF PUPPETS and .... AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. Ripping ur face off, RIPPING UR FACE OFF metal. Beginning w/the BLACK album, the boys were neutered by producer Bobbie Rock and the aforementioned distractions. Why James ever let this happen, will be an eternal mystery to me.
