Ellifson and Lars remained friends the whole time, so I'm sure he was privy to a lot of conversations. Lars even went to Megadeth shows to support them. In the end, the difference in money that Mustaine would be making if he were credited on every song on Kill em All is a drop in the hat compared to what he's already earned from Metallica and what he already earns from Megadeth royalties, its simply not worth it to either party to care about it at this point. @Mirror Image James was a singer first, he doodled on guitar whilst Dave was in the band as lead guitarist. Dave's playing absolutely rubbed off on hetfield, and Dave was impressed by how much he improved, which gave James confidence to play guitar as well as sing. Both Dave and James have told this story already. Guess your to butt hurt to believe, but facts don't care about your feelings boy.
@imagereflection4826 Жыл бұрын
@@geoffreyharvey No you mean Dave has told that story so many times. Which should tell you a lot considering his tendency to distort and falsify the past. James had been playing guitar for 6 years before he met Dave had written 3 metallica songs before he met Dave and they even had a release of one of those songs before he met Dave. James has said many times that he wanted for a time to be like Sean Harris and that singer/guitarists were unusual in metal but he still wrote on guitar and played at rehearsals. After a few shows and a failed try out with a second guitarist he went back on to guitar with vocals. James had his style before he met Dave and in fact If Dave hadnt met Lars and his huge knowledge of a plethora of underground European proto thrash bands then Dave's style wouldn't exist. So there's your history lesson and stop projecting it's cringe.

Wtf 😂 everything you said is false, Dave Mustaine was listening heavy stuff before he joined and Lars hired him cuz they share the same knowledge of bands, and he knew a lot of bands they liked. But his style was a lot more thrashy that’s why they kept telling him to slow down stuff, you’re dumb.

Good on him for writing all of these. I see why he was frustrated that he didn’t get a chance to shine (not considering the fact that he went on to have his own pretty successful band too), but way too many people give him credit PAST these clearly evidentially proven contributions. Mustaine wrote some pretty killer riffs, but throughout the majority of Metallica’s catalogue they aren’t nearly as impressive; especially spanning past their first two albums. Fight Fire with Fire, Creeping Death, Trapped Under Ice, Battery, MASTER OF PUPPETS, Disposable Heroes, Damage Inc., Blackened, Frayed Ends of Sanity AND NUMEROUS OTHER SONGS have far more impressive riffs in my opinion. None of which have Mustaine’s fingerprints anywhere near them. I find the rivalry between Megadeth and Metallica fans pretty entertaining but the entire argument of “Mustaine wrote Metallica’s best material” has always perplexed me to no end. The riffs that were by him have been far surpassed by the remaining members in his absence, and funnily enough, by HIMSELF in Megadeth. Jump in the Fire and Phantom Lord are nowhere near as heavy as Dyers Eve, or Poison Was the Cure. Why do people seem talk about Metallica’s first five albums as if they were all by Mustaine but donned under Hetfield, Hammet, Ulrich, Burton, and Newstead’s skin? If you check the writing credits for most of the songs throughout that era, guess whose name doesn’t show up ONCE after RTL? Credit Mustaine for what he actually accomplished, not just what he’s claimed or gaslit the general public into believing.
