Awesome stuff as always..discovered something else a while back on some of Metallica's concert videos,when they were playing at that castle in Ireland, they do an "outro" I guess and beef up the end of Memory Remains with a kick-ass up tempo mix- can ya do that one next? Great stuff!

I was at that show- Slane Castle. Its a historic venue thats hosted many a Legend. Headling there really is something else, and it was awesome watching MetallicA be Kings of the Castle that day.🤘🤘 The extended, revved up jam that furthers The Memory Remains is brilliant! I believe that jam was part of the live version of the song at all times they played it that tour, and perhaps others. It sounds triumphant and victorious. Amazing to be part of when played live!

Summer 2000. I was sitting in my room, eagerly awaiting to record MetallicA's performance at the MTV Movie awards. That, was the first time I heard "I Disappear". And...that live version is THE definitive rendition. It is a crystal sharp attack. The song is heavier, leaner and sharper than the studio version. Watch that performance- Lars' snare is sharp, impactful. It 100% makes a 100% difference over the actual studio version!! BUT! The song is SCREAMING for a solo!! Before it rushes and races to its final conclusion, there is a rock-out instrumental part that sounds like a Solo is absolutely needed. Id LOVE to hear you play a Kirk styled solo over that riff to really complete the song!!

Love this intro, the natural harmonics that Hammett plays over James' pseudo vocal line are just awesome! Love how they did this intro back then, really sick. There is some great soundboard audio from Live in Fresno, CA (2004), where they played this intro.

Just went and watched the I Disappear vid cuz I never noticed the broken/missing string! It's a broken low E actually, but still, funny how they didn't edit it out or something.

By contrast, Ive always found the studio version to have a grubbier sound. Muffled, rougher that the Stone Cold Stunner that is the Mtv Awards live rendition. The production on the studio version to me sounds muddy, leas powerful. The grand finale when it speeds up to the end doesnt have the razor sharp riffage and streamlined clarity of the live version. Its a bit clustered. The studio version has always sounded to me, like a demo. It needs clearing up, sharpening up, padded out. Watch it back to back with the MTV performance- Id love to know what you think, mate!!
