Sweet! Glad to see the Day on the Green clips... I was actually in the front for that whole show (as a punk high school kid, lol).... Still one of the best shows I've ever attended... Soundgarden, Faith No More, Queensryche and then 2+ Hours of Metallica at their peak? Hell yeah! The BART ride home after was a bit painful though.....

For me anyway the Black Album is one of the best Metallica records and one of the best albums of all time in any genre. It is sonic, masterful piece of musical art. The songs are fun to play and they sound good in any situation. Its a wonderful album. It may be less thrashy but the groove and soul of Metallica are 100% in this record. The lyrics are 1000%inspired and touch peoples hearts. This album is on its own level and there will never be another album like this one period.

Back in 1991 it was such a bittersweet moment. I always wished them success because they deserved it. Deep down inside I knew it's going to hurt their music and they'll never be the same. Those first 5 albums are a part of my DNA like nothing else. 1991 was such an exciting time for rock/metal music. I feel privileged to be alive and experience it first hand. Rock music was never the same after that. 30 years later I'm still waiting for an exciting rock/metal album.... Nothing so far..

James's voice is great in these early songs. By the time they came to touring with GnR, it was shot to pieces, never to return!

I wasn't on board with the crowd participation on 'my friend of misery' at first, but I stand corrected, that was sweet shit. That's definitely my favorite one off of the black album, dark, heavy melodic, good shit!

I would have picked Sad But True in Lollapalooza at Irvine 1996. So tight and heavy, my favourite version.

Oooh, yeaaahh 🤘🤘🤘. A great idea for the video. At first, when I started watching Enter Sandman expecting to see 1991 Monsters of Rock stuff and didn't see that warm filter (you know that one from the movie about Moscow concert) I thought WTF man, are you serious? But then I looked at the comment and was like "Phew, that's it". Seriously, you can disagree, but that Moscow performance is the best ever live Enter Sandman play, even before Het's going to the vocal teacher and having his voice changed. Moreover, it's their best ever performance lmao (maybe except for the Seattle '89 but you got the point).

The black album was the last album I bought from Metallica and at the time, I didn't like it because it wasn't like the previous albums. Fast forward 28 years and I can honestly say that I was very wrong.
