I too have been a huge fan of this album since it came out in 1999. I didn't watch the video of the performance until fairly recently and it's definitely worth watching or rewatching! My biggest takeaway from watching it was just how awesome Jason was that night. You can tell James was a little nervous performing with the Symphony; Jason, however, was in his element. I think Rob is great and Cliff of course is a legend but the energy that Jason brought in his time with Metallica was unmatched.

My friend got this album back in that specific year and my metal journey started \m/ I became instant Metallica fan for life, I was like 8 yo back then. I cannot remember how many thousand times I relistened this SM album and video. And hey !! Rob is the best but theres no other backvocalist better than Jason, especially in this concert o.O dude killed it

Yes. Both S&Ms are awesome BUT this original one is SPECTACULAR!! Micheal Kamen was just a total legend. P.S. the symphonic Metallica story is not complete without The Warning ‘Enter Sandman’ live @Pepsi Center. (& might as well do ‘Black Holes’ as well 😉) (& did you see Freeze the Fall has a new song out? ‘VHS’. *trigger warning*)
