This song helped me through depression. When it came out, I heard it at least 10 times a day and tried to learn it on guitar. I pushed the hell out of my right hand until I got it right. And it was AWESOME when I played it loud in the same tempo. I don't care what people say, this is one of the best songs of Metallica because it's loud, fast, heavy, and powerful at the same time. I agree. A lot of old school metalica fans complain about the loud snare but I think it was a good intention to get the message across about raw anger. The loud snare from Lars is actually one of the best things about the song because it does compliment the feeling of out of control impulses of rage. Don't why people are so bent out of shape over it. It's not like they did a complete flip like linkin park did, they changed it just enough so that they could still keep some of there essence. Plus, not every metal song needs to have guitar solo to be a great.

First there is a short period of mad smile and laugh (cuz jokes about Lars always funny even when they're corny) and then that thought... What kind of turbo expensive and extraordinary drugs he was taking during recording and releasing the shit? It's just fucking impossible to let this to factory (disc pressure?) and then sell as Metallica album by healthy minded person who was one of the greatest metal compositors... and pretty good drummer especially late '80 when he could into double kick. Just think about that. Imagine Lars standing near console with billions of strange buttons listening to final record of this... this fucking piece of insanely fucked up gigantic smelly disgusting loose shitSuddenly he just smiled up to himself thinking that this is ABSOLUTELY FINE and work is done. What is done can't be undone so here we are. PS. One more think, just want to say 'hello there how's life' to my neighbors that actually listening to this interesting record with me in the same time because of my new speakers intensive test. xD PS2. They don't want their fav band to move on and express their current emotions, or explore new genres and sound, they want them to stay the same as they were in their old album(s) (perhaps one album the fan particularly likes). I think people lose sight of the snare's purpose in this album. The album is about anger and frustration, that snare makes you uncomfortable on purpose (like a comedian will make people uncomfortable before a punch line to make the laughter an escape thus amplifying the joke). They want you to get to a dark angry place with no sensibility and that snare is there to make the song sound more raw, it's there to antagonize you so you transport yourself to that place. And then the lyrics and riffs are the escape. It's an album that is meant to be heard while you jump around like a maniac screaming, not to be heard while you sit still and pick it apart. It's the musical equivalent of someone getting in your face until you explode in fury.
@MrMOGHammer8 жыл бұрын

I'm almost sure they had a backup version of it without the pan. And it's a good thing it got lost forever. This album is one of those pieces of art where if you even dial something down 1% - it doesn't work anymore. Just perfection. Not joking.

They should make a 28 minutes long version of the whole St. Anger album, and it would be most kickass material in the last 20 years.
@liptakgergelysimon71688 жыл бұрын
I heard, it isquite good, and I had posted the above mentioned 1 month before Hardwired to Self-destrust was released.
@liptakgergelysimon71688 жыл бұрын
To make it much shorter, cause the main problem with the Album is that, it is simply too long with its 78 minutes. After half an hour the album just gets very boring and repetitive. They should leave about a bunch of songs, or they should reduce the longness of the them back to 2-4 minutes. 28 minutes is a reference to Slayer's Reign in Blood. That was around 28 minutes and simply perfect in its concreteness.

Nothing explains St. Anger better than the documentary, 'Some Kind of Monster.' The film follows the band as it deals with the departure of Newsted, the addition of Rock on bass, the auditioning of new bassists, Hetfield going to rehab (and the other members dealing with this) and the overall, collaborative writing process in general. Basically, 'Some Kind of Monster' explains why 'St. Anger' is what 'St. Anger' is. Fans cannot simply listen to the album and fully understand what Metallica created. To gain that perspective, listen to the album, watch the documentary...and then listen to the album again. It will open your eyes and ears to things you didn't know existed on 'St. Anger.

Reason Known? Yes Reason: St. Anger, Load/ReLoad, Death Magnetic and Hardwired...To Self Destruct are utter garbage albums Reason I am here? Check out music to see if its bad Why is St. Anger so bad? No solos? Does this apply to all of the songs in the album? Most likely Why is Load so bad? Do I even need to include this? It was so bad Guitar Hero Metallica only took 3 out of the 27 in load and reload combined leaving 24 of them out. Why did I include Reload with Load? Because Reload was a sequel to Load if you couldn't figure it out. Why is Death Magnetic so bad? Not like anything Metallica has made, And what they've made is what's good, Except Broken, Beat & Scarred is good and Cyanide is good in most of the parts Why is Hardwired...To Self Destruct so bad? Same as what I said about Death Magnetic, Except NO good songs EDIT: I, of course, understand every albums has shit songs but when the entire albums are garbage, It's not acceptable, I even expected The Unforgiven II (ReLoad) to be good because the first The Unforgiven (Metallica/The Black Album) was fucking great but no reused lines and not even fitting for the name The Unforgiven II

Because people are static. They don't like change. Just look at Hollywood today. Everything that sells is something old and familiar. This is a very abrasive, angry album, even heavier than their 80s works, and if your life is going too well, you're just not going to get it.

tbh imo this is one of the worst off the album. the main riff is nice but the composition is way too messy, so much so to the point that its almost jarring. The album itself has a lot of nice riffs that were overlooked though, like my world, dirty window, sweet amber, The unamed feeling, etc.

This was a good record, I dont give a fuck what anyone says. Showed what can be done this tunning when played with Metallica's expertise. If this record had been put out by Limp Bizkit or Papa Roach it would have been hailed as iconic for the "Nu metal" scene. People hate it because it was Metallica's and they expect them to never try anything new and write Master of Puppets 15 times in a row. Come fight me.
